White nationalist rally: What we know about deadly crash - CNN

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia (CNN)One person died when a car plowed into a crowdfollowing a dispersed gathering of white nationalists and counterprotesters in Charlottesville.

    • The driver, James Alex Fields Jr., 20, of Maumee, Ohio, is being held at a Virginia jail on suspicion of second-degree murder, malicious wounding and failure to stop in an accident that resulted in death, said Superintendent Martin Kumer with the Albermarle-Charlottesville County Regional Jail.

Federal authorities launched a civil rights investigation hours after the incident.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions said US Attorney Rick Mountcastle is leading the investigation.
"The violence and deaths in Charlottesville strike at the heart of American law and justice. When such actions arise from racial bigotry and hatred, they betray our core values and cannot be tolerated," Sessions said in a statement. "Justice will prevail."

It's time we start naming radical alt-right (and alt-left) terrorism for what it is.

Yep, it appears this terrorist is an alt-right supporter, who told his mom he was going to a Trump Rally (which wasn't wrong, it was a Trump rally), and marched at the rally with a white supremacist group (whose slogan is "Blood and Soil", which is a Nazi slogan). He also posted online his support for various white nationalist, Neo-nazi, and white supremacist causes, including the recent alt-right darling Bashir al-Assad. He also seemed to like the alt-right-adopted cartoon character Pepe the Frog

    • Fields' mother, Samantha Bloom, told CNN affiliate Toledo Blade, her son told her last week he was going to an "alt-right" rally, but she was not involved in his political views. CNN's attempts to reach Bloom were unsuccessful.

Which article are you reading pertaining to the "Trump rally"?...

That'd be like saying that Antifa is a "Bernie Sanders rally".

Charlottesville: What we know about James Alex Fields

And yeah, it was a Trump support rally held by alt-right white supremacists and Nazis.

IF you have an example of the Antifa expressing their support for Sanders and chanting about him, and giving him salutes, and leaders of the movement who expressed direct support for him (like Robert Spencer here, who has been a firm supporter of Trump and held rallies complete with Nazi salutes hailing Trump), then we can discuss that. Until then..... *shrug*

President Trump's first responses were perfectly balanced.
He denounced hatred and violence from all sources.
The media didn't want to hear that. They wanted him to
specify ONLY the white nationals and ignore the violence
from the leftist groups who started the fights.

Looking at some of your previous posts, this is quite ironic.

The white nationalists were the group that killed people using terror tactics, while demanding ethnic cleansing. Say what you like about the "leftist" groups (IMHO, being anti-Nazi doesn't make one a leftist, but we do love our either/or dichotomies, don't we?) they didn't kill anyone, and they don't make killing anyone based on race a plank of their position.

Not that I see anyone blaming Republicans generally for the events in Charlottesville, but victimhood is seductive, I guess.

Can you supply a source for your claims that the terrorist attack in Charlottesville had "everything to do with Republicans" and we should "blame Republicans"?

99% of the original protesters didn't kill anyone either.
Only one rogue did that, and it could just as easily have
been the leftist rioters there. The white nationalists and
their group were there protesting legally when they were
attacked by the leftists, who did not have permission or
permits to hold a mass counter-protest, much less commit
mayhem and violence against others and against the police.
They came armed and ready to fight and kill if possible.

And ANTIFA and their like are not anti-Nazi. They call
themselves anti-fascist, which is a joke, because they are
fascists. They are also anti-American and anti-freedom,
except for themselves and those who support them.

As for being run over, that tends to happen to people who
play in the streets and block traffic. Any sympathy I have
only goes to family members who lose loved ones due to
their own ignorance or stupidity or hate-filled ideology.
