Why would you truncate what GOD has really said by HIS WORD and only offer half the truth?

Especially to a dying man?

John 6 in context
(Along with the complete verse of John 6:27 which you only offered half and implied a different manmade temporal work (Like quail over manna) than THE FOOD which the FATHER has given

26Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

27Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

28Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

The context shows that belief is a work God has given to man to do. If a dying man cannot do this work then he cannot be saved.

Further the people clearly asked HIM what work they should do and JESUS clearly responded with John 6:29 that this is the work of THE FATHER that they believe the ONE whom HE sent

That would be JESUS
And not men

John 6:27 Jesus tells the people to work
John 6:28 the people ask what shall WE DO that WE WORK the works of God
John 6:29 Jesus gave them the work of believing to do. Jesus did NOT tell them they did not have to do any work for He already told them to work-labour in verse 27. And He tells them what work to do in verse 29.

The phrase "work of God" means God is the genesis of the work that is given to man to do. 1 Corinthians 16:10 Timothy "worketh the work of the Lord" means Timothy was doing the work the Lord had given to man to do and not the Lord doing the work for man. In Acts 16 the jailer was commanded to believe, the imperative implies it was the jailers' responsibility to believe. So believing is a work God has given to man to do not a work God does for man for God does not have to believe, He is not the one lost.

Jesus Christ is the One who said to work for everlasting life....not me.
HE said more than that
In fact HE said he who believes in me though he does shall live

He also said whoever believes in zone has eternal life and will not come under condemnation

1 John 5 also identifies those who have overcome and have eternal life

And the "work" which they did to overcome is that they have believed in THE SON OF GOD

You might want to review Romans 10 before you decide who will descend or who will ascend

Did you know John 5 came before John 6?

You might want to read them together

You might also want to review the parable of the workers in the vineyard

So you agree that believing is a work man does?
Do you think GOD is fooled?
That also is mentioned in romans 10

If a man in the hidden depths of his heart doesn't really believe, GOD knows

It's not hidden from HIM
