When we lust after someone who we are not married to, that is adultery. Since, from my understanding, if they are not married to each other, and one lusts after the other in their heart, that is adultery, because it is not their spouse.
I probably should also say, I do not think lust is right; lust is not the same thing as love. Lust is looking for what you can get, gratifying your own wants and desires, while love is looking and concerned for the welfare of the other, love is looking for what it can give, love is pure and beautiful.
