My mom broke her wrist back in december, and had surgery for it.
Her wrist is healing nicely but lately her fingers have been stiffer than ever,
and her fingers crack when she moves them. She is really worried she is
going to be crippled and is worried about if she cannot go back to work.
She has been getting really worried lately about all this and bummed out lately. Does anyone have any advice or ideas on whats going on? She is going to see her surgeon next tuesday morning. I keep trying to encourage my mom but she fears the worst. Can you all please keep her in prayer?
Thanks so much and God bless,Love Nicky(SunshineforJesus).

Did she go through physical therapy after her surgery? It sounds like what occurred with my MIL when she did NOT continue the exercises and she got a "frozen" joint. It's painful (PT is) but necessary. IF she did see a PT, I would have her call them and get an evaluation. Praying all find the right solution. :prayer:

She was seeing her physical therapist a few times a week but because of her insurance hasnt been seeing her much lately. She was only allowed one more month and on friday is her last day after only seeing her once a week, this last month.Hmm maybe that has something to do with it.

I wish and she wishes she could keep going
to therapy but her cheap insurance WONT let her. She
does all sorts of exercises daily but her fingers stiffen up on her all the time.
She is gonna voice her concerns to her surgeon.

I agree with another user that suspects frozen joint or perhaps arthritis. She must continue to do the exercises, and you need to watch and encourage her. If it's too painful for her, then speak with her surgeon about pain medication like NSAIDS (aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.), Tylenol, or opiates. Once her pain is reduced, it should be easier for her to do the exercises.

My mom has no problem doing her exercises every day,and takes aleve,or ibuprofen daily. I do encourage her all the time,or aleast try to. She is hoping her surgeon will
give her the ok to have cortizone shots. Not to sound dumb but whats an opiate?
