CAN WE AS BELIEVERS , JUDGE ANYONE ?

I heard a sermon last week that we cannot JUDGE !

And many quote Matthew 7:1 Judge not , that ye be JUDGED .

Is judgment not different under the Law ?

Can people under GRACE , judge those in the ASSEMBLY ??

Hello @Dan Perez, I suppose it depends on our motivation/the reason behind doing so. Look just five verses later in the Sermon on the Mount and see what the Lord has to say about judging/discernment there .. Matthew 7:6.

Matthew 7:1 forbids judgementalism, not moral discernment (IOW, judgment is to be done according to God's word and for His glory, and for neighbor love). We are called to be "our brother's keeper", and they, ours, for the good of one another

Clearly God is the judge of who is saved, that does not mean that we are not to correct other in love in an attempt to help them.

Ask the preacher how he lives without making judgements?
Is it safe to drive on to the road, to turn right or left, overtake etc.

Ask him about how he makes judgements about Christians who have sinned and are before him for councelling or discipline?

You have the right to apply scripture to every message preached to you and to challenge the preacher.

We are to judge:

doctrine (Acts 17:11),
open sin in the body (1 Corinthians 5:1, 12-13) and
rightly, by actions (John 7:24).
