The tri-cities are Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland. They are about 125 miles ssw of Spokane. It is a very dry desert. No trees, just sage brush. No mountains.

Because they are basically one city. They are all connected yet they are all in the middle of nowhere. Three different governments, but all geographically connected. I've heard that they tried to become one, but of course that will never happen because it will put too many beaurocrates out of work.
