Can I ask the question?

As a celibate, I really don't care about dating or being married and don't really want to know but this question is on my mind. When you are in mixed company What does it mean when a married person opens a conversation with you and asks about a common things you have in common? Then when you are leaving this person goes for a hug and say you smell good? Should I be of any concern?

That would make me very uncomfortable. The conversation and hug seem okay but telling you you smell nice is going too far IMHO.

not everyone's perfect and everybody has their own reasons for doing things. Assumption makes for problems. Be direct and talk to the person, not to people who have no idea about who the person is.

I would not give it a second thought. If such comments keep happening then ok. It might have been a one-time, sincere compliment and I would not read more into it than that.
