Good afternoon,

This question may seem obvious or to certain points. After realizing that He does bless us with glory and salvation through His son Jesus Christ I wonder about more.

Does God bless us with deeper meanings? Are we given a life with a plan full of His blessing? Does He continue to teach us more about blessings to give one another or do we walk with Christ with leadership to see what He may continue to choose with rightful judgement?

What I'm really asking is.. Does He bless us in the open or do we take in blessing through His mystery?

I don't want to miss out and become fixed upon blessings upon blessings. I realize the little things upon large priorities. I follow Christ and His teaching with more than I can handle. Hopefully I can realize and believe in a God who may bless us with current and loved judgement found aside our personal lives.

To answer in short, yes. Very much yes.

As we walk on in this life we are constantly blessed. We can(but don’t always) grow more and more in His wisdom and knowledge.

These of course are all spiritual blessings - but they ‘feel’ more intimate the more you grow.

Kind of like a baby. They are immensely blessed by their parents, and the older they get the more they realize it. Even when sometimes(teenagers....) they do not feel like it. :)

Hello @Philip1993, I don't have a lot of time to post right now, so I thought that I'd leave you with a couple of thoughts, the first one being, when you are breathing, you are blessed by God, and even when you stop (breathing) as a Christian, you still are, yes :) .. cf Matthew 5:43-45; Romans 8:32; Colossians 1:17. We who are His are loved by Him with an everlasting love .. cf Jeremiah 31:3, IOW, there was never a time in eternity past when God did not love us, and there never will be such a time, now, or forevermore. This is some of what prompted theologian/pastor Charles Spurgeon to end one of his evening devotionals with this thought,

"Everlasting love shall be the pillow for my head this night" :)
Here is another thought from Spurgeon (based upon verses like Romans 8:28; Hebrews 12:7-11) that concerns another aspect of God's blessings (even though the ones from this particular group may not feel like blessings in the moment)

Spurgeon - Kiss, Waves, Rock of Ages.png

"We know that God causes ~all~ things to work together
for good to those who love God, to those who
are called according to His purpose"

Romans 8:28

God bless you!

--David
p.s. - theologian/pastor Arthur Pink has an important thought about the Lord's blessings to us that comes to mind, one that I believe is worth considering, so I'll add it in here as well.

Here are a couple more thoughts (from missionary/author Elisabeth Elliot) along the same lines as Spurgeon's thoughts above.

Our vision is so limited we can hardly imagine a love that does not show itself in protection from suffering.... The love of God did not protect His own Son.... He will not necessarily protect us - not from anything it takes to make us like His Son. A lot of hammering and chiseling and purifying by fire will have to go into the process.

This hard place in which you perhaps find yourself is the very place in which God is giving you opportunity to look only to Him, to spend time in prayer, and to learn long-suffering, gentleness, meekness - in short, to learn the depths of the love that Christ Himself has poured out on all of us.

Here's a few more -

"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" (Rom 1:20).Put another way "Opposition to truth cannot be excused on the basis of ignorance, because from the creation of the world, the invisible qualities of God’s nature have been made visible, such as his eternal power and transcendence. He has made his wonderful attributes easily perceived, for seeing the visible makes us understand the invisible. So then, this leaves everyone without excuse."

Since this is Spiritual gifts forum - only for posters who believe in God's spiritual gifts and they're for today. Praying in tongues for extended periods of time improves our immune systems by 35 to 40%. Research by Dr Carl Petersen, ORU, brain specialist. (Not limited to just one benefit though). "He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself..." I Cor 14:4

Also, laughter helps our immune system among other things. "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: ..." Pro 17:22 God blesses us when we do what Scripture states "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Philippians 4:8 Some benefits in "God's Prescription Book" Dr Avery Jackson, neurosurgeon.

We decide if we're going to have the fear of the Lord - Then God teaches those who fear Him. (Pro 1, Psa 25:12). Having the fear of the Lord is when we hold Him in awe. loving Him, giving Him honor, respect, devotion, right worship, serving Him, following Him and being submitted and obeying His Word, His will.

There's numerous blessings when we have the fear of the Lord including "..prolongs one’s days..." (Pro 10:27). "It causes men to depart from evil (Pro 16:6) " "...he will shew them his covenant." Psa 25:14.

That's more than enough for me honestly...

understand.

Since the thread is about God's blessings-

Recently listening to a dr who said research (after considering those who smoke and baseline health) shows that people who volunteer live longer, stay out of nursing homes longer, are less depressed, have less disability, and less dementia compared to those who dont volunteer. BTW, dont have to have research to support Scripture for me to believe His Word.

Additionally, saw "Coral Triangle" documentary and one of those interviewed gave credit to the Lord for the idea to generate revenue for their island.

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." Jam 1:17

"Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;" Eph 5:20

"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:" Psa 103:2 Lists some

God's word is Spirit and life to us (John 6:63) and by keeping His Word before us "... and health to all their flesh." Pro 4:22

It's how we enter - "Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name." Psa 100:4

Found this today

"The reverent, worshipful fear of the Lord leads to life, and he who has it rests satisfied; he cannot be visited with [actual] evil." Pro 19:23

Another version:
"When you live a life of abandoned love, surrendered before the awe of God, here’s what you’ll experience: Abundant life. Continual protection. And complete satisfaction!"
