Can Gays be Christian? I think that they can. At least Christian Gays are accepting the possibility that God does exist and they do, as individuals, when they become Christian, come under the salvation of Jesus Christ. We are all in a state of ignorance and when Jesus returns, this will all be sorted out.

    Can Gays be Christians?

Jesus sacrificed His life for us now it's our turn to sacrifice ours to His!
I was not appointed by any group of people or any human authority, but by Jesus Christ himself and by God the Father, who raised Jesus from the dead.Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.

Yes, I believe homosexuals can be Christians. Different churches have varying views on this subject, so they don't all agree with my assessment.

Many churches are accepting of homosexuals who are chaste. There are other churches that welcome homosexuals that engage in same-sex relations.

Who gets to judge what does or does not constitute as a Christian?

Salvation is not an event. It is a process. Salvation consists of justification, sanctification, and glorification. You cannot say that you are saved until you are in Heaven. That being said, no one who lives in sin can be saved because they have not given their lives to God. They are not remaining in Him, and they have not become new creations. Homosexuality as a sexual act is condemned in Romans and by implication in a number of other places. It is sin, just like lying, stealing, murder, and adultery. No one who lives in any sin will be going to Heaven, regardless of the sin.

God does, and has given that criteria in the Bible.

What gets me is why they persist on asking Christians about homosexuality and when they don't get the answer they what to hear.....They try debating what God already defined for them! I was not appointed by any group of people or any human authority, but by Jesus Christ himself and by God the Father, who raised Jesus from the dead.Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant

If a thief broke into your house and sat down at your table. Ate what was served. All because he wanted what was good, however did he have a place at the table? Did he belong to the house of God? Is he a Child of God?

One's sexuality is irrelevant to one's salvation. Jesus came to save everyone, both straight and gay. If you believe Jesus lived and died for you, you're a Christian.

I'm not an expert on what constitutes a Christian, not least because there are several major and conflicting schools of thought, but that seems to be the key point. Everyone's a sinner, everyone can be saved. Even Christians sin, be that sin theft, lying, lusting, coveting, or even being a Big Gay™.

Of course. But Jesus also makes it clear that those who do not follow His commands, those who do not remain in Him are not following Him.

Belief is not enough. That much is made clear in the Bible. Even the demons believe:
Jas 2:17 So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.
Jas 2:18 But someone will say, "You have faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart from your works, and I by my works will show you my faith.
Jas 2:19 You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe--and shudder.
Jas 2:20 Do you want to be shown, you senseless person, that faith apart from works is barren?

Everyone can be saved if they repent of whatever sin they may be living in and decide to follow Christ:

Rom 6:1 What then are we to say? Should we continue in sin in order that grace may abound?
Rom 6:2 By no means! How can we who died to sin go on living in it?
Rom 6:3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
Rom 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with him by baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
Rom 6:5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.
Rom 6:6 We know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be destroyed, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin.
Rom 6:7 For whoever has died is freed from sin.

Well that's all very well and good, but Christians are pretty evenly split down the middle when it comes to the issue of homosexuality. And, for that matter, abortion, capital punishment, same-sex marriage, communism and capitalism, liberalism and conservatism, etc. God may indeed have given his criteria in the Bible, but the no consensus on what those criteria are.

Which, again, begs the question of what his commands are. For every distinguished scholar espousing one opinion, there's ten others espousing their own.

    Can demons be saved?

Repenting is fine, but that doesn't mean you won't re-offend. Can you honestly say you've never committed a sin after your conversion? You've never lusted, lied, dishonoured, etc? Catholics have Confession for a reason, after all.

If you stop growing, striving, to do better. You stop being good! Christians sin, but the true believer doesn't stay in sin!

Of course Gays can be Christians. The term is applied to one who practices the Christian faith. The question is can Gays be saved? I'm not saying they can't; I'm not saying they can. It is for God to decide. The same question and the same decision applies to me.

I'm not going to judge them. I hope they don't judge me.

Good for them. We are not talking about opinion here, and I am not giving any opinion. God's commands are clearly written throughout the Bible. Should you wish to test me on what those are, you may do so in an applicable location.
    Red herring.

I see that you did not actually read what I wrote. I said that they need to repent of any sin they may be living in. The occasional lie isn't living in sin. There are generally three levels of sin. That which misses the mark, such as Romans 3:23, that which is intentional, such as in 1 John 1, and there is living in sin, which is essentially sin addiction, which is mentioned numerous times throughout the NT.

What poll or survey are you using? Just because the consensus isn't there doesn't mean the criteria is useless. All it takes is good biblical interpretation- consistent, I might add- and you have something perfectly in line with what I just said.

I think everyone sins, even professed Christians, including myself. I think the distinguishing difference is I know what I'm doing is a sin and try to work on myself to turn away from the sins and do better. I don't think I could call myself a Christian - a follower of Christ's teachings, if I said I am a thief and you must accept me as a theif and I won't stop stealing - when God specifically tells me in his word to not steal. Well I suppose I could but when I stand before God one day he's going to say "I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity." Luke 13:27

    Can they be? Sure.
Why on earth they would want to be considering a great deal of their 'brothers and sisters' want to see them burn. I dont know.

Its just hilarious how every time somebody tries to use the bible for something they say they have the obviously correct word of god on their side. Anything else is just some guys opinion that got it wrong. I do not think its possible to stop laughing at that. Thanks jaws.

It is often hard to wonder why any gays would want to be a Christian. As John Barrowman said "Why would I join a belief system that hates me?"

Just as Christians in the past said being black made you evil, and interracial marriage was a sin, the gay debate just proves Christians have no clue what's true and what isn't. It changes every generation.
