I was clealrly talking about the machines and tubes in neonatal intensive care units, which are nonhuman and totally unnatural.

Bottles are unnatural. Sure they have to be operated by a human but so do those machines. Both are required for the child's survival.

You are still not getting it. Preemies can't breathe and digest milk without tubes and machines. Newborns who can breathe, digest food, and get rid of waste on their own are the ones not born too early.

Well being disabled myself with a few things that will pass on to my kids, my wife and I decided not to have a baby. Now if she got pregnant through an accident, we would still have the child. Granted we could get a surgery to make sure but don't want to spend that kind of money.

Yeah what you read was most likely written right wing christian anyone who's beliefs are not like your are wrong. I can give the names of books and people who say having an abortion helped them. So it is funny both sides can make the argument that they are right. How about all agrree that were not going agree

A newborn is still reliant on either the mother's body or a man-made object to survive. If your standard for a right to life is that the baby must be able to survive without the mother's body AND without man-made machines, then no one on earth has the right to live at birth.

That is what I would do - get spayed before I had a chance to accidentally have a baby.

My standard for a right to life as it pertains to the thread topic (when abortions should be allowed, if a fetus should be a preemie, etc.) is that fetuses are not "viable" outside the uterus if they need to spend a a lot of timein the NICU with plastic tubes in their tiny noses and nouths,

Why does viability matter, exactly, in determining whether the fetus has a right to live? For the record, if I get into a car accident and need to be hooked up to machines to live, no one has the right to kill me.

You are already born. The foetus is not. You have rights, the foetus has few.

How can I have rights now if I did not start out having rights?

The law defines who has rights and who does not. It defines born humans as having full human rights under law.

We aren't here discuss what the law currently says, rather what it ought to say.

    1. Red Herring.
    2. Gods laws override mans laws. Man has to answer for breaking Gods laws.
    3. Gods formed us in the womb. So a "Fetus" is a life.

No person, woman or man should have the right to murder there children, born, or not born.

Killing is a crime, I do not see how this is any different.

What people are asking is for the right to kill baby's.
