Calleigh McCormick was a 30-year old and shy Amerasian female who's work was her life. She worked with the ICB. Internatinal Crime Bureau.
A secretive law enforcement bureau that helped out other local and state law enforcement bureaus.
She was a wiz at the computer as they called her aka "The computer gal". She travelled with the other agents who were in desparate need of her computer skills. She has been there ever since she was a teenager.
She learned the computers before learning to walk joked her parents.
She travelled to all fifty states and over fifty countries. And counting.
She never, ever has time to socialize nor much less have a date. She was always on the run.
The few remaining "hobbies" she has if you want to call those that. Were going to NFL games and exercising. She goes to some NFL games when on assignment.
She never has been married, not even has ever seriously dated someone(been on one blind date but that was way, way long ago), and no children. She was nonetheless, the only honest and hard-working person that someone would ever, ever meet.
Her work was her life. She lives, breathes, and even sleeps work. Much to even the chargin of her supervisors. Who worried that she needed to have a life of her own.
One day, while at a black-tie party, there was this handsome guy. He looked like in his late thirties to early forties. Tall, dark, and handsome thought Calliegh.
He was looking and staring at her all evening. When she looked for him, he was out of sight. But then he came to introduce himself.
His name was John Robertson. He was a Justice Department federal agent. On loan and a Canadian liason. He, like Calleigh, was a workaholic.
He helped train other cops and feds. He also used to be in the military. Was like a Canadian Navy Seal.
He was also was a Harvard graduate and law school graduate as well. Despite not praticing law, he still is liscensed.
But he would rather be part of the action. Instead of just sitting on the sidelines. He and Calleigh talked for a long, long, time. He has been in military and law enforcement since he was 13. Beginning with ROTC.
Unlike Calleigh however, he used to be married. Married for over twenty years. His wife a few years ago died of cancer.
They had no children despite both desparately wanting a family of their own. But he had a very busy and heckteck schedule. That required him to move all of the time.
John was trained to kill or be killed. He also was a marksman in over thirty guns and twenty knives and other non-gun weapontry.
He spoke about twelve lanuages. As also he came from a huge family. With parents married over fifty-seven years. He has eight brothers and six sisters. He is the only one born in the USA. Also he has sixty nephews and nieces. With more on the way.
But his parents went to Canada when he was two years old. His dad was in the Navy and was a seal. John wanted to follow him in the seals and did.
He did it by land, sea, and air. The Canadian Navy Seals. He also was heavily trained in self-defense & martial arts.
Calleigh, again was from an only child background. Her parents have been married for thirty-eight years. She is adopted from Vietnam.
She became a US citizen in 1982. She excelled in technology and english. And while still in high school, the US Government gave her a job.
To help out in the computers. As she became a wiz. That is how she got the name "Computer gal".
John and Calliegh had a lot in common. But the difference was in their personalities. Calliegh was quiet, shy, and withdrawn.
While John was lively, outgoing, and talkative. But both he and Calliegh had more in common than they would ever know.
But he & Calleigh talked all through the night. He was polite and friendly. Very concerned.
As well as also has a heart of gold. He and Calliegh were the last ones to leave the party. He gave her his card as he gently kissed her on the cheek. He told her to call her anyday at anytime. So she did and the two started a friendship. That went into dating.
For the next five months. They were inseparable. Both of them walked around the park in DC. And they went on picnics.
John told Calliegh that he hadn't dated since his wife's death three years ago.
And at the urging of his friends as well as his and his late wife's Jordan's families to get him to date again. At their blessings as well.
Calliegh told him that she very, very rarely goes out and prefers to stay at home. John told her the same thing for him.
Afterwards, they took trips to the mountains. They went out to movies and dinner. John was the perfect gentleman.
Before, during, and after their dates, John gave Calliegh a kiss on the cheek. Both were holding hands and were kissing neck & neck.
These past few months were meaningful to Calliegh. Then all of a sudden, it would go downhill for her. Just when things were going great for the young lady.
John went from being a sweet and kind man into being a cruel and heartless monster.
Especially in front of Calliegh. For the next six or seven months, Calliegh tried to call him or talk to him in the office. But he ignored her calls.
And in the office, told her to stop harrassing him. What is worse, she stumbled into something that could harm John.
When John's life was in danger, she did her best to warn him. But he told her to shut up and mind her own business.
That she needed to keep out of his affairs. Calliegh was not just confused but hurt.
Everytime she tried to talk to and with him, either he ignored her.
Pretending she wasn't there or just shoved her off. One time, he yelled out in front of her to stay out of his life. And to keep her mouth shut.
She almost was on the verge of tears. Then one day, while they were at a wedding on a cruise in which John was the best man. John was all tied up. And everybody was looking for him.
When unbeknowest to everybody, terrorists were on board to hijack the cruise vessel.
Terry, one of the feds, replaced him in the spur of the moment. When John untied himself after being knocked unconcious. Calliegh on accident, didn't know she let a terrorist go free. John jumped down her throat as with the others. Then as the others went to look for him.
Wendell, Calliegh's good friend at the ICB, told her that John was under a lot of pressure and stress. And told her not to worry.
But it was too late for even that. Calliegh seemed that she could never, ever forgive John. For what he put her through. No matter how many times he would deny it.
She had to go somewhere to cleanse her mind. After the wedding on the boat, the usually teethtotalling Calliegh drunk done some three beers.
Calliegh, not known to take vacations, thought she needed one.
So she put in a one month notice. Then the month came when her relationship with John had gone sour.
Even when she tried to say hi to him, he rudely ignored her. She needed a break. A whole month's break. She went to the Virgin Islands to escape.
A secretive law enforcement bureau that helped out other local and state law enforcement bureaus.
