But what laws have been broken? the inside info that the NYT and WaPo have been getting is embarrassing to the administration, but not classified. Are they dealing in state secrets? Selling data to the Russians (so they can sell it back to Donald Jr.?) Revealing troop movements in a time of war?

I think he also gave his friend an FBI memo he (Comey) wrote to his friend. But I don't believe there was anything in the memo that would have made it illegal for him to give to his friend.

I can't speak for Trump supporters only myself. And I have supported the investigation almost from day one.

Personally I think the onvestigation will prove the President innocent and condem a number of people.

Could be. We will see when the investigation is over. IMO and it is just my opinion, we may end up with the same deal we had with the Clinton investigation; really bad judgment, careless, but not anything worth prosecuting.
