Does anyone use the Byzantime app for Android phones? If Byzantine time is hour 0:00:00 at sunset, then it isn't matching up with the time the app is giving me. Is there something wrong with the app or am I an idiot who can't calculate Byzantine time correctly?

Because what pops up when I google "what time is it on Mt Athos" is different than what the app says, and both are different than what I had worked out in my head based on what I assumed was Byzantine time, so I'm not sure where the error lies.

Ok....... the app uses Roman timekeeping, so the day is divided into 12 hours AM and PM with 0:00:00 starting at sunset, but Roman hours are not neatly divided 60 minute intervals, they can vary from 45 minutes to 75 minutes.

So, is Byzantine time the same as Roman time, or does Byzantine time use 60 minute long hours?

I think sunset would be depicted as (our) midnite on the Byzantine clock corresponding to roughly 6pm?
If you are cst that would make the regular time in Greece 8 hours ahead. Roughly Abit past 10pm if you looked it up 2:xx from your snapshot. That would make it 22:00 hours our time but on a Byzantine clock it would be at 4:00???. Byzantine-Clock-Diagram__32742.1484323711.jpg

This makes sense to me, but doesn't match what the app says. I've contacted the developers of the app, hopefully they give me some insight.
