I'm confused about this because the NCRegister was saying that the Holy See never said he was resigning, and until they announce it, it's untrue.

NCR is reliable in my experience. Which is where I got the link from which connects to 'Whispers in the Loggia.' We'll see.

Beyond announcing the Pope's acceptance of Malone's resignation at 73, house sources likewise indicate the Holy See is set to name Bishop Edward Scharfenberger Albany as apostolic administrator of Buffalo until a permanant replacement is installed....

Huh interesting. Either I was wrong, or I mistook someone else's tweet for NCR's or they deleted the tweet. Most likely I was just wrong.

If they weeded out everyone in the priesthood who acted inappropriately, looks like there'd be a handful of men left.

It will take the bankruptcy of more dioceses, with some having to sell off their cathedrals before this sinks in with the bishops. If then. Not the corrupt bishops though, who will cling to their dresses. I expect there will be some cathedrals where the cross is replaced by a crescent within a few short years.

I was watching the news last night where they spoke to the bishop's secretary. It was horrible the things the bishop was covering up.

Yeah, yeah. But I was discussing his actions as bishop. Picky pants. ;)

And I was just upset that he gets to be known as the bishop emeritus of the diocese. After what he did. With a title like that he is supposedly a respected retired bishop in the community.

Well the Vatican is going along with it. It's no wonder that nobody takes them seriously when it comes to this rampant sexual abuse and cover-ups so prevalent in the Church. Who could blame them?
