• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I have had a diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia for a good 15 years now, I have been on every med they have and none of them did anything except the one called clozapine. About 3 years ago God spoke to me and told me to take an obscure dietary supplement called sarcosine, I tried it and it nearly miraculously cured me of my negative symptoms of schizophrenia! There is currently no known medical treatment for the negative symptoms, only positives (anti-psychotic drugs). Sarcosine is an experimental treatment and taking it I am now able to smile, laugh, and I am alot better socially, I don't know what to do with myself! I have never been like this in my life! It is very gentle and has no side effects. <staff edit>

Take your medicine as the doctor who cares for you prescribes, yes, preferably with ongoing testing to make sure you get the right treatment and results. (testing can verify).

Note from the past (sarcosine is a newer drug used apparently the last 3 to 12 years ) ,
biologically active niacin was used before 1950 routinely, apparently:

https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/schizophrenia.htmlFeb 10, 2017 - Vitamin B3 or niacin regulates stress-related hormones as well as the levels in the adrenal glands, which facilitates better functioning of the brain. Reducing stress and improving ...... second-generation antipsychotics. Sarcosine also has been found to be effective for acute treatment of schizophrenia.".

So God actually spoke to you and instead of healing you he told you to take “obscure dietary supplements” ?

From almighty creator of everything that sounds bit petty, but great if it has worked for you.

I tried this sarcosine supplement myself, actually.

It seems to affect how volatile my schizophrenia is (not that I am violent as a rule, without it,, just that whether or not I would be seems to be less of a concern - in a volatility context).

I would like for it to be pronounced in affect of my schizophrenia, I guess I am just not made that way.
