Deuteronomy 22:5.A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.
ishshah keli geber=woman instruments/weapons man
A woman should not carry the instruments of a man.
keli first used here and applies to a woman
Genesis 24:53. And the servant brought forth jewels H3627 of silver, and jewels H3627 of gold, and raiment, and gave them to Rebekah: he gave also to her brother and to her mother precious things.
second use here applied to a man
Genesis 27:3. Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, H3627 [here described as]
thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison.
So we see that we can easily argue that this pertains to a woman taking up the tools and weapons of a man, and has little to do with apparel, appearance or styles. Should an ishshah (more precisely, a wife) be expected to take up the tools of a man?
geber labash ishshah simlah
man wraps himself in a woman/wifes garment
this is more clearly referring to women's apparel, and not so much women's clothing,
but wrapped about with a shawl or other covering.

Genesis 3:21. Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them. H3847.
literally wrapped them in animal coats, which also implies taking on the appearance thereof.
simlah basically, something that can be used as a full covering.
Genesis 9:23. And Shem and Japheth took a garment, H8071 and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.
Hence, the man can be attempting to hide his manhood beneath a woman's covering, to appear as a woman, rather than a man. Even as Adam and Eve took on the appearance of animals in the garden.
Even as Esau was a furry man.
Genesis 27:
15. And Rebekah took goodly raiment of her eldest son Esau, which were with her in the house, and put them upon H3847 Jacob her younger son:
16. And she put H3847 the skins of the kids of the goats upon his hands, and upon the smooth of his neck:
Was this not a disguise, even if for a blind man?
Other thoughts...
Many choose to be blind to serve the Lord.
Isaiah 42:19. Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD'S servant?
Others choose to be blind to avoid the Truth.
John 9:
39 And Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind.”
40 Then some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, and said to Him, “Are we blind also?”
41 Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains.
