The goats, President Trump and I have decided a simple little fence would probably work?

Now does that finally make everybody happy?

M-Bob

You figured out what Trump wants? Good - will you tell Trump? I think he is still confused.

Please keep up on the latest Trump news.
He has been stating for days now that a fence would probably work in many areas.
The one shown in the video above in Israel looks pretty good.
Actually, if we do keep up on this issue we will realize that same company that built the fence in Israel has done some fencing on the United States border.
Let's just hire them to do a bunch more and get this border issue over with so we can move on to other things.

That looks like a wall to me.

Also note:
- Israel's border wall is patrolled 24/7
- Israel's border wall is 440 miles long
- Israel's border wall is largely in inhabited areas that are easy to access for patrol and repair purposes
- The US-Mexico border is ~2000 miles long and already has ~700 miles of walls, fences, and other barriers

My issues with Trump's border wall are threefold:
1. He doesn't seem to have a clear plan. Depending on when you ask him about it, he's said that he wants to cover the whole border, half of it, or only where it's needed. He's said that it should be solid concrete, "see-through", steel slat barriers, and a "totally new design using US steel."

2. There are already existing contracts out (and more to be awarded) to build and repair walls along the border under plans drafted by the Bush and Obama administrations. For the most part, these already cover the areas where it makes sense to have a wall. I've yet to see ANYONE present evidence that these existing and planned barriers are inadequate - in fact, Trump (or his representative) has taken credit for them on at least one or two occasions.

3. Without a clear plan and with the amount of wall that already exists in key areas, there doesn't seem to be a need for anywhere near the amount of money Trump is asking for.

I do keep up. That’s just the latest iteration. He has flip-flopped numerous times.

Sounds like we have an easy solution to the government shutdown, then:

Take the $4.5 billion every year American taxpayers give Israel in free money, and build the U.S. border wall with it instead. Since it was worked so wonderfully for Israel and they have shored up their security so well already--why are we still giving Israel free handouts for their security when then U.S. can't even handle their own?

Surely no one objects?

Why bother? Two minutes after he said the last thing, he said the opposite and then claimed it was someone else's fault. :)

The cost of a wall or a big bad fence are but, a drop in the bucket of the US budget.

Let's compromise and get it over with.

Give DACA ones a path to citizenship and give Trump his little wall.

What happened to compromise.
Seems the Democrats are not willing?
They say they are all for DACA.
Yet continue to do nothing.

That is the deal Democrats offered last year - $25 billion for a wall in exchange for DACA.

Trump torpedoed it.

Well then let's simply get back to that deal so we can get this issue done with!
The goats have better things to do.

Quiet now they are watching Trump State his case on TV.

He didn't revive that deal. That would have been a real act of political skill.....

Not even going to acknowledge President Trump could have had 5 times the funding he's asking for now if he hadn't decided on a whim to reject the deal then? I thought the hope was for people to have an open mind tonight?

an open mind for Trump, not an open mind the other way. That's not the way it works.

We don’t know, we haven’t been in the negotiations. But they put a bill on his desk before Christmas and he rejected it.
