Book Of Life

I am going to post my question and the responce in another forum here. I love discussing and getting everyone's thoughts here, so this should be a great discussion here.

Can you give your definition of the Book Of Life? Just from what you have gained from scripture what this book is.

The book of life is a book which contains the names of all living. All men are written in the book of life at one time, but removed if they fail to be saved.

The very first scripture that come to mind when Ruht posted that was, how about Revelation 17:8;

"The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
