Well, I went
Went to the church house

And I kneeled on
My knees to pray

I got to thinking about that girl
She drove my
She drove my spirit away

She drove my spirit away
She drove my spirit away

She's alright
She's alright

She's alright
She's alright

Brothers in Arms
Mark Knopfler

These mist covered mountains
Are a home now for me
But my home is the lowlands
And always will be
Some day you'll return to
Your valleys and your farms
And you'll no longer burn
To be brothers in arms
Through these fields of destruction
Baptisms of fire
I've witnessed you suffering
As the battles raged higher
And though they did hurt me so bad
In the fear and alarm
You did not desert me
My brothers in arms
There's so many different worlds
So many different suns
And we have just one world
But we live in different ones
Now the sun's gone to hell
And the moon's riding high
Let me bid you farewell
Every man has to die
But it's written in the starlight
And every line in your palm
We're fools to make war
On our brothers in arms

Crossroad Blues by Robert Johnson
Performed and Sung by Edward Phillips

No offense intended by what I'm gonna' say, but I was raised in the South. Saturday mornings when I was about 10 years old, my Mom and sister would go to Parks & Belks department store. I instead would hang around the corner of the Ben Franklin toy store. I'd listen to an old Black fella playin' slide guitar and singing the blues on that corner. I always dropped a nickle in his hat after listening to him for a while. There was no one that hassled the guy, most everyone enjoyed his playin'. The police didn't bother him either. He was my Curtis Lowe.

But Mom set the stage, because she raised us up on big band Jazz and the old Blues singers.
