YW; in some ways they seemed like more innocent days, years ago, in black and white. (The Laurel and Hardy editions were classic!)

Haven't heard of them.

They probably didn't cross the Atlantic. Dixon was a London policeman of the old school - kind, friendly and getting to know the people on his patch, and Dr Finlay a Scottish doctor in the 1920s/30s although the programme was made in 1950s/60s if I remember rightly.

I remember some of the programmes listed above.

I liked their innocence too. There are game shows on now, which I would really enjoy if only they would keep them clean! What's My Line was a favourites of mine too.

Flipper is ringing bells; I think we got it here in the UK.
