I had no idea this situation existed. This is wrong.

I hope the ABC gets involved. I hope the Coptic Pope is able to help somehow. And I wish there was something I could do.

I wonder whether, rather than putting pressure on the Egyptian government, a better strategy might be to get worldwide Presbyterians to put pressure on that branch to renounce their claim.

With everything going on in the world it is so sad to see what Christians are doing to one another too. It's not hard to understand why a Muslim government would want to lump Christians together. They probably don't understand or care about the differences.

From what I understand, it's common in that part of the world for only certain denominations to be recognised by the government (and have certain rights), and for other denominations to affiliate with them to come under their umbrella.

But... there's a difference between willing affiliation and being taken over!
