If Putin had invaded Ukraine when Trump was president he would have created a lot of "guilt by association" for Trump. With a puppet in place leading the U.S. he couldn't risk his becoming even more unpopular than he was.
As for Saudi Arabia, the problem with our oil prices is the greed of American oil companies---and greed is one of the only things Trump can claim expertise in.

LOL, I watched the full context of what Trevor Noah said. I can't post the youtube video here because there is some cussing but this is the name of the video and what he says begins at 7:50.
What he is talking about is that Saudi Arabia and UAE would never have not answered Trump's calls because they wouldn't know what Trump might do, mean tweets, etc.
