True enough, but have you noticed they have taken it to extremes and think that just because one side is loudest on the internet that they should be the majority also thanks to their definition of democracy

Turns out, it's whoever has the most votes, in an election where all legal voters are allowed to vote. And republicans see that as a threat. That's why the Big Lie was born, and why voter suppression is so common in red states.

But it's a losing battle.

That is small fish. Attitudes are the problem.

And railroad carry a lot of shipping containers with all sorts of products therein. Ore and coal are also a very common cargo on the rails.

Biden kept the negotiations low-profile to avoid messing up things for the negotiators. It was a good decision; a strike was averted.

In the past, when a party got out of touch with American voters, they changed to better appeal to those voters. Republicans now see it as the voters' fault, and look to ways to restrict voting.

I see. So the news media and social media internet is predominantly Republican in ownership and content

Much of it is. But because no one controls all the media, it's not an issue. If one is not too bright, one can only listen to media that confirm one's own preferences. And that probably happens a lot. You may have seen those surveys of people who watch only Fox News or MSNBC. They tend to be more ignorant than most other Americans.

Edit: People like that have a perfect right to be ignorant, of course.

They also hauled grain, shipping containers, coal, minerals and chemicals. I own shares of Union Pacific. They served an area mainly west of the Mississippi.
True enough, and yet the whole time they kept running there was a 'supply chain issue' because it had nothing to do with transport and everything with withholding and raising prices.

The huge issue was a hold-up at ports. There were lots of cargo ships sitting offshore, waiting for their turn to be unloaded.

(Edit) It is true that a lot of businesses took advantage of the situation to price-gouge us. Business has no morals; it's there to make profit. You might as well blame mosquitos for biting you.

Relaxing COVID-19 recommendations is a good first step, now that the pandemic is winding down.

Yes while local produce and products were skyrocketing in price as part of the reset. Most things have gone up 40-100 % if not more (especially food and building materials not the fault of retailers) and will stay there. Nothing to do with trains.

Some of it was due to pandemic restrictions, lack of workers, etc. But much of it was transportation problems. The "just in time" system used by so many companies did not do so well with the disrupted distribution system of the pandemic.
