More than 120 retired generals and admirals question Biden’s fitness to be commander-in-chief
“Flag Officers 4 America” and claims the United States “is in deep peril” and Americans are “in a fight for our survival as a Constitutional Republic like no other time since our founding in 1776.” . Ex-military brass question 2020 election result, Biden's health

When people in his own party have concerns people should take is seriously.
Over thirty House Democrats are asking President Biden to consider renouncing his authority to launch nuclear weapons.

In a letter sent Tuesday but publicized Wednesday, 31 lawmakers led by Reps. Jimmy Panetta (D-Calif.) and Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) urge the commander in chief to “consider modifying the decision-making process the United States uses in its command and control of nuclear forces.”

When it comes to nuclear weapons we are for all intents and purposes a monarchy. What the president says goes. I have never liked one person having the absolute authority on that and want that power removed from the president whether it is Biden today, Trump yesterday, or Blue Ivy tomorrow. They want Biden to hand over that power, not because if questions of mental fitness but because no one should have all that power.

Now I would not expect his party members to say it was due to his diminished capabilities but it has never been a subject of discussion for any other president.

I agree, that may be why they are looking to spread out the verification of a nuclear launch after Trump. I was seriously concerned that Trump might have issued some kind of military action (non-nuclear however) to declare a national emergency to try to prevent the peaceful hand over of power.

According to Wikipedia, As commander-in-chief, the president is the only individual with the authority to order the use of nuclear weapons.[10] The National Command Authority comprising the president and Secretary of Defense must jointly authenticate the order to use nuclear weapons.[6] It is argued by Franklin Miller that the president has almost single authority to initiate a nuclear attack since the Secretary of Defense is required to verify the order, but cannot legally veto it.[11] However, Section 4 of the 25th Amendment of the Constitution allows for the vice president, together with a majority of cabinet heads or Congress, to declare the president disabled or unfit to execute the duties of the office.[12]

Yep. The linked article even quotes that the concerns are related to Donald's actions while president. For some reason the post you're quoting left out that part and instead tried to imply that it was an indictment of Biden.

More than 120 retired generals and admirals have signed their name to a list of moronic nonsensical propaganda. This is Hannity/Beck-level pablum that I would have expected flag officers to have had the sense to see through.

They don't so much have concerns about Biden, as they do about another Trump:

Fact check: Missing context in post about Biden and nuclear codes

Can you tell me why Republicans are not on board with this plan?

:sigh:
From the above link in your article...
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called the Pentagon’s top general on Thursday and urged him to add extra precautions to stop what she called an “unhinged” President Trump from using the nuclear codes.
...
“This morning, I spoke to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley to discuss available precautions for preventing an unstable president from initiating military hostilities or accessing the launch codes and ordering a nuclear strike,” Pelosi (D-Calif.) wrote.

“The situation of this unhinged President could not be more dangerous, and we must do everything that we can to protect the American people from his unbalanced assault on our country and our democracy,” she wrote.
Pelosi calls Gen. Milley to block Trump from using nuclear codes

It's really a good idea to thourghly read what we post, there have been times that I haven't and made myself look really foolish.

Mentioning this uncomfortable fact about Trump obviously doesn't fit the narrative to bash Biden.

I think this might be because of the anxiety they felt when the stable genius (look nuclear you have to good genes believe me) Mr Trump was in charge.

Never again, lest we forget etc.

You are aware that the link in the guote YOU posted shows that it was a matter of discussion and concern under Trump!

Or are you?

However, Section 4 of the 25th Amendment of the Constitution allows for the vice president, together with a majority of cabinet heads or Congress, to declare the president disabled or unfit to execute the duties of the office.[12]

The problem with the 25th is that it takes time and also relies on people appointed by the president to speak out against him. As we discovered with Trump, a lot of people will not stand up against a politically powerful leader even when they should.
