Biblical affirmation of Jesus's divinity

I was debating a JW the other day about Jesus's divinity, and was having trouble finding the words. Obviously, I firmly hold to the claim that Jesus is God, but couldn't defend that as well as I'd have liked to. Anyways, does anyone have a list (or a link to a list) of every time in the Bible where it alludes to or clearly states Jesus is God? Obvious ones would be John 1:1, and John 20:28, and Isaiah 9:6, but there are many others I know that are less clear but still connect the dots (ie Hebrews 1). Also if anyone has any articles or books regarding the trinity it would be appreciated if you could let me know. Especially when it comes to understanding the trinity better, or at least the claims of Jesus being God. Thank you!

You can look at the fact the Jews were charging Jesus with blasphemy for his claim to be the Messiah because they saw that as a declaration that He was God in the flesh...they were expecting not a man, but God Himself.

Sometimes it's not explicit, like when He says He is the Good Shepherd. Most of His audience would know Psalm 23 "The Lord is my shepherd". So instances like that He kind of says it too.

Psa 18:31 For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?

Psa_78:35 And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer.


God is our rock!

1Co 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
1Co 10:2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
1Co 10:3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
1Co_10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

And Christ is God because he was the rock in OT times.

There are many verses that show Christ is God but this is the best IMO.

Also read Jesus's claim in Luke 4 when He read from Isaiah 61, and today this has been fulfilled..

Blasphemy is the act of showing a lack of respect for God or otherwise outright insulting God, or claiming divine attributes..

With Jesus it was claiming divine attributes which was undeniable and couldn't be explained any other way.. hence, the man tore his robe - a sign of mourning and deep sorrow since he didn't believe Jesus.

Just to say that they have modified John 1:1 to suit their 'theology'...

The New World Translation reads 'a god' not The Word was God.

Just to say that they have modified John 1:1 to suit their 'theology'...

The New World Translation reads 'a god' not The Word was God.

The proper translation is "the Word was God" because Jesus Christ is God, known as God the Son.
