  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Been a little while and thought id drop by and say hi. Currently trying to finish my last year of hgih school, getting my plans together for college, and looking for a job.all that good stuff...

Anyways thought i might ask a non religion based question. Whats your personal style you like to wear?

I kinda fit into the emo/scene look with some punk thrown in there.

Good luck! Do you have any thoughts on what you might major in?

When I was your age, my style was jeans and a sweatshirt. Comfy and casual.

My style is still comfy and casual...but I wear dresses and skirts. Sometimes with a sweatshirt! :D And sometimes even with Crocs! LOL! I don't care what I look like, basically, as long as I'm comfortable and modest. I try not to look frumpy...but I don't think I always succeed.

Hiya, Bace! Good to see you! :groupray:

I'm making plans to go back to school myself, possibly with a view to ordination. Northwest University for a BA in Ministry Leadership seems most likely. I don't think admission is going to be a problem, but I've got some challenges with lining up the practical aspects and the financing.

My personal style goes two different ways depending:

1) Totally casual/comfy: t-shirts or tank tops; shorts, jeans or sweats; flip-flops, sneaks or runners.

2) Very Joan Jett: black leather, boots and glam/punk sexiness.

Depending on what? My mood, the weather, and what's going on.

Izdaari.
I remember when I could fit into black leather :D
Hope your plans for ordination go as you expect, Going into the preisthood (cofE)has crossed my mind so many times, but I realize that my children must come first and their well being has to be my main priority.
Maybe at present that is my calling.

Good luck in all you do Izdaari and Bace I wish you all the best in your endeavours once again:)

I generally prefer comfort over 'beauty,' so most of the time it's jeans and a t-shirt, but even then, the style is typically something artistic and/or vintage. Thrift-store finds and hand-made items are always cool. I don't worry about fashion all that much, to be honest. I don't have the money or the ambition for it. I try to support local businesses as much as possible, and also organic and/or vegan and fair-trade clothing suppliers.

Good luck with your schooling, and your job-hunting!

I love thrift stores, especially when I'm traveling! I love to go someplace like Malibu and hunt down their thrift stores. Even the rich have to cast off their clothes somewhere! 99% of my childrens' clothes come from thrift stores, and they look pretty good. ;) The only time I buy them new clothes is for Easter, and that's pretty much because you can't go to a thrift store and buy something specific.
