Pretty simple question: What criteria do you use to judge what moral commands the Bible is giving you?

For example, I've seen people use Leviticus to condemn homosexuality. Leviticus also condemns eating shellfish, yet many Christians eat shellfish.

So how do you decide which commandments you should follow and which are no longer applicable?

(Note: I contemplated putting this in Exploring Christianity, but then I figured it was more of a moral question and would be better placed here)

Good question. Leviticus 19 has them all jumbled together.

Deuteronomy puts honoring your parents on par with releasing a mother bird when taking her eggs.

I think breaking the commandments out by category is an artificial construction. God didn't seem to do it.
