John saw "souls" in heaven reigning with Christ.
The first resurrection in John chapter 5 is found in John 5:24.
The second resurrection found in John chapter 5 is found in John 5:27-30.

The "nations" and "wrath", and "the time of the judgment of the dead" are found in Revelation 11:18, right after the 7th trumpet, which is the last trumpet in the Bible.
You cannot have a judgment of the dead, without a resurrection of the dead, as found in John 5:27-30.

Because Christ returns in Revelation 16:15-16, and also in chapter 19, we know the Book of Revelation is not in chronological order. Instead, it is a series of overlapping visions.

The verse you used above, proves the error of your viewpoint.

The time of the judgment of the dead is found in Revelation 11:18, right after the 7th trumpet, which is the last trumpet in the Bible.

Because Christ rule in heaven from the beginning of time until the eternity, not 1000 years only.

seems odd he would use a scripture that includes the 1000 years satan is locked in the abyss and is released at a later time when he has been relentless refusing to acknowledge it
in various other scriptures it uses the word souls referring to living people using the term souls in place of the word people

I see scripture teaching of a future human man of sin/Antichrist, a 42 month tribulation, two future litetal prophets/witnesses returned, a future gathering of the nations to the final battle, immediately after the 42 month tribulation, the second advent, resurrection, final judgment, eternal kingdom, in the twinkling of an eye "Eternity Begins"
