Baptist Tithe

My point is not about tithing, I have been saying the entire time we do not need to tithe. I said "I give what I can and the Holy Spirit guides me where to give it to" You said "The Holy Spirit does not guide you" What does that have to do with the word tithe? I did not say I tithe I said I give but you still said the Holy Spirit does not guide us to give... see where I am going with this. You also went on a few posts back telling someone "this is the Baptist forum" basically telling him he shouldn't be here because he tithes... then you post a huge post about some guy bashing the Baptist church because the Baptist church "wants us to tithe" Your all over the place, one minute your pro Baptist thinking we are all against tithing, then your posting stuff bashing Baptist because they are in support of tithing. You said the Holy Spirit does not guide me to "give" then I post scripture that proves the Holy Spirit does guide us to give and you try to turn it around saying I said I "tithe" if you read back you will see I never once said I tithe. So then you label "giving" as "tithing" All I can really do is laugh and walk away from this, chalking it up as wasted time.

Well, we agree. Christians dont have to tithe or to give. It shall be someting extraordinary, not a regular thing.

OK. Giving is out of question. It is about giving. It is about giving whatever can be gived. Here in Montevideo we have one of those busynes churches. The call people to step forwar to donate 1.000 pesos, then 500 peso, 100 pesos, 1 peso, and even cents. The goal is that nobody leaves the church without steping forward and giving sometyhing.

Then you should leave your church. Seriously, if your church is more focused on what money it is getting in than the spiritual state of its flock or the local community then it is a synagogue of Satan.

I'm not even limiting it to Baptist churches, if any church has a bigger focus on its income than on its flock, and mission, then it errs and is a synagogue of Satan.

And yet you won't bow to correction, not to mention all through this thread the answers to your claims have been, no we don't actually believe that, to continue to argue like you are is called strawmanning.

Well...sounds like you need to start a church then! How are you going to pay for it?!?!

Do you believe in giving money to help support the poor and needy?

How do pastors get paid? Where does their salary come from?

The Lord is not telling me to move away from those believing a mistake; the Lord command me to stay and be light and salt. Didnt you know that???????

The same Lord told me not to worry for tomorrow, God is having care of us and will provide for each of us. And offcourse God will provide for the church. Is it the Church of Christ? If it is, Christ will provide. How to spread the Gospel... in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Does your church need the power of money? Do not trust in money and what it can pay... trust in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Note: The people of God (Israel in the OT and the Church in the NT) has to look and care for the poor and needy of the ouw people. We are not supposed to look after and take care of the needy of the World. Actually, we are warned not to do it. Our mission and our busynes is to spread the Gospel and we are suppose not to get distracted with any other concern.

I understand how you get to the first idea of looking after those in the Church, I don't understand how you get to don't be compassionate to those of the world, care to provide some Scripture?

We have one mission. That is ONE mission. The mission is to go to the World and make disciple (do you really need a verse?). That is our only mission.
As soldiers we have a mission and we are warned of not getting distracted with other busynes (do you really need the verse?)
We can, eventually help other; but we can not dedicate our efforts to that.

I am spoiling the best excuse of churches and pastor to ask money.

Does somebody know even a single verse in wich the christian tithe can be soported as a scriptural doctrine principle or practice?
The point from wich you are trying to avoid is the absolute lack of scriptural support on the "christian tithe". Does somebody know even a single verse in wich the christian tithe can be soported as a scriptural doctrine principle or practice?

So no, you have no Scriptural basis for this belief
