baptism question

Matthew 3:16 says "When He had been baptised, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened TO Him, and HE saw the Spirit of God decending like a dove and alighting upon Him."

It mearly says that Jesus was given a vision of a Spiritual matter, which happened to be the spirit of God. The simile was a 'like a dove'. This is similar to when Balaam sees the Angel sent to kill Him, and when Elisha's servant gets shown the legions of angels protecting Him, or of Saul on the road to Damascus. They are shown a SPIRITUAL vision. It never says any where that everyone saw it. It infers that Jesus, or the Holy Spirit, told the author about what He saw.

So we see here that John (who is speaking here) is actually who saw the spirit descending like a dove as per Matt. 3:16 "He saw the Spirit"...

Sorry but that debunks the whole argument you were trying to make around that verse.

Paul, I do agree with you and Kayanne, you are also on to something.
Spiritual Circumcision, what being born again really is, does allow people to have an everlasing covenent just like God stated in the verse you posted about the circumcision of the flesh. They are both everlasting (Both c) and any of those who do not have spirtual circumcision (BEING BORN AGAIN) will be cut off from the rest of the believers.
See, this is how cool God is. You see here now how the New Testement fullfills the Old Testement with the circumcisions? That is just so awesome!
This could turn the post around, but right here at this point is the reason why the sciptures are true when it comes to eternal salvation. Atleast to me it is CLEAR as a bell.
