The witchcraft books and I am Jazz, no need to read those .
The bible. oH a hearty amen on reading that good book.
I read animal farm many moons ago while still a teen in school.
Perhaps one could rewrite it and call it church farm. Due to many a church
has become the very world they once were not of.
Very dark days indeed. But the LIGHT of Christ , by that light , his own know the way
and walk theirin. Praise the Lord peoples. OH yes, praise the LORD>

Among the books that have been banned in libraries are the following:

Animal Farm (Communist commentary)

The Bible says love not the world.

You said:
Huckleberry Finn (use of the N word)

The Bible says love your neighbor and to speak full of grace seasoned with salt.

You said:
The Dictionary (contains dirty words)

More like a reference source than an actual book to read.

You said:
The Great Gatsby (sexual references)

Jesus says do not look upon a woman in lust or you will be in danger of hell fire.

You said:
The Harry Potter series (Witchcraft)

The Bible condemns witchcraft and sorcery.

You said:
Where's Waldo (exposed cartoon breasts)

We are told to love our wives as Christ loved the church. Treating women as if they were sex objects defeats that whole idea or concept.

You said:
The Diary of Anne Frank (sexual references)

Sex is only supposed to be within the confines of marriage only.

You said:
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (ungodly characters)

Sorcery is condemned in the Bible.

You said:

And God created them male and female.

You said:
Dead Poet’s Society (encourages rebellion to teachers)

We are told to submit to the higher authorities if they are not telling us to violate God's laws.

You said:
The Bible (violence)

Is that what you think when you recall the Bible?
The Bible is primarily about GOD and His love for you and me.
Violence only exists within it's pages because of man's sin.
If man did not sin, there would have been no violence.
God punishing man for his sin or evil is not wrong but it is justice;
And it was done so as to keep law, order, peace, etc.

I am not obligated to follow any traditions that the world may esteem or value. I am called to follow Jesus Christ. Also, libraries are not like they once were. People have the internet and can access these things within seconds with the touch of a button, my friend.

Anyways, I hope you understand where I am coming from;
And I do say all this in love.

May God bless you.

With loving kindness to you in Christ.

Sincerely,

~ Jason.

Some of the bans and challenges are due to the age of the children able to access these books.

Two Boys Kissing
50 Shades of Gray
I am Jazz
George

Among many others, these books should not be parked in an elementary school library. The ALA thinks 1st graders should have access to these books if they can handle reading the words.

They do this to draw attention away from all the books
that they DO remove from the shelves each and every day.
This gives them full censorship power, individually.
But they get very huffy if the public interferes
with their godlike power to remove any books they choose.

Not read by any christains is what they should be.
WE have no biz with evil. remember.
and lets face it , their is no such thing as good witchcraft . Most witches in the bible
were actually KIND. Yet God approves not of witchcraft. Just because
someone may do good things , hugs everyone, don't mean they saved at all.
I could do all that even before I came to Christ , but I sure was not saved I was evil and wicked.
I think way too many churches are focusing on hugs and not pure doctrine .
That wont do. Hugs without correction is only death
but hugs WITH correction and pure sound doctrine, now that is what we need.

This has become an epidemic in some churches. Thinking just because so many may
hug and pray and sing to GOD, yet remain in sin, gay , transgender or whatever sin it is
they must know God. NO . if they walk not HOLY as HE is HOLY, which by the power
of REAL GRACE we can do , then they KNOW not God, nor are saved.
the tree IS KNOWN by its fruit. and lets face it, PROVERBS is truth.
the fruit of the wicked is TO SIN.
Tis why GOD even said........they can sing LIKE DAVID, oh yes PRAISE HIM
yet they bring their INQUITY with them. WE need to stop hugging without correction.
SEEKER friendly DID NOT WORK. all it did was cause the more and more
people to see gay or gaymarriage as good. IT caused the church to fall away.
Seeker friendly IS NOT biblical. they LIED to us all. But GODS HOLY WORD
and words in the bible , that shows us the proper pattern in all things. YEah, even in correction.

Except banned books are not limited to elementary schools. At least half of the libraries banning books are public libraries.

Nonsense. Nothing wrong with reading a book that includes a witch. Using that reasoning people shouldn't read the Bible because it includes witches. Should they also not see Shakespeare's plays?

The early church burned books? That's interesting because the codex didn't become widely available until the third or fourth century. Examples please.

Animal House is a novel that is anti-Communist. Perhaps you should read it.

The author said this,

"[I accepted] mechanically the Christian religion without having any sort of affection for it."

The Bible says if you do not love your brother, you are a like a murderer and no eternal life abides in you.

The author does not also believe in an afterlife, either.

You said:
Have you read the book? The use of the N word by Twain is actually an attack on those using it.

Mark said, "Faith is believing what you know ain't so", and "If Christ were here now there is one thing he would not be – a Christian".

The Bible says faith is the substance of things hoped for. The evidence of things not seen.
Also, to say that Christ would not be a Christian when they were called Christians in the Bible is not right. So I am not interested in an author who does not accept basic truths in God's Word.

You said:
But it has been banned because it contains dirty words.

Not sure how that changes anything. People have access to tons of different dictionaries online at the touch of a button.

You said:
Do you lust over cartoons?

No. But other people do. inappropriate contentography or nudity is not foreign to comics or cartoons. Sex and being naked should only be between married couples and it should not be promoted in so called artwork.

You said:
That isn't a reason to ban a book.

God will ban all sinful books like this one some day. They will be destroyed; And there will be nothing sinful like them in His Kingdom. So yes. It is a reason to ban it. It serves no useful and good purpose if you truly want to serve and follow Jesus. Sin and following Jesus is like oil and water. The two do not mix.

You said:
That isn't a reason to ban a book.

See above answer.

You said:
Have you even read The Diary of Anne Frank? There is no sex in the book.

Anne says that all we need is faith— in anything. The object of that faith doesn't matter. In a sense, she tells Peter to have faith in faith. But an empty faith can't change the Nazis or even Anne. In contrast, the Bible says that we need faith in God Almighty, the father of the Lord Jesus Christ. Only he can change our hearts and take us home when the trials of life have passed.

So the book fails to have any true value or worth for a real Christian.
So if the book is banned in a library, it doesn't change anything.
Also, people can get the book online; And the book will not be remembered far in the future in God's Kingdom. In other words, the book is worthless in regards to the truth.

You said:
That isn't a reason to ban a book.

The promotion of sorcery is a reason to ban a book. God did not suffer a witch to live in the Old Testament times, why would you think he would want books that promote witchcraft to be a good thing?

Sorcery draws people away from GOD.

You said:
True. That isn't a reason to ban a book.

Yes, because such a thing goes against God's natural design of how He created humans.

You said:
Obviously you have never read Dead Poet’s Society.

I have heard of it. I just never cared about it. I was more into stories that involved action and adventure back in the past when my life was not dedicated to following Christ.

You said:
Why would I think that when I "recall the Bible. That was the reason given for banning it.

Personally, when I speak of the Bible, I would never leave anyone thinking it was just about violence. I will talk about how the Bible is about love. So if others ban it because they think it is violent, they missed the entire point of the Bible's theme (Which is love and not violence).

You said:
If they can be accessed so easily why ban them?

They are trying to censor where they can. But it is a futile exercise unless they also plan on banning these books on the internet in general, online stores, and in physical stores, too.
