Bakersfield police corruption case spreads to Sheriff's Department
Two veteran Kern County Sheriff's detectives have quietly resigned from the department and agreed to plead guilty in federal court to stealing drugs and selling them. The plea bargains tie corrupt sheriff's deputies to dishonest Bakersfield Police detectives in a crime ring that raided evidence lockers in both departments.

And there are even more members of the ring: Court documents say other conspirators – "known and unknown" – were involved in the scheme.
