IMO, people are attracted to others of certain traits, based on deep seated needs they develop over their lifetime.
Some of those needs are healthy, some not so much, which is why some people, keep having relationships with those who are more harmful to a relationship.
Yes, I think some of this is correct. But, some people of either sex apparently have a "need" to also deprecate or dominate people of the other sex as a part of being turned on in that relationship, and sometimes they take this intention covertly into the initial opening of the exchange and/or relationship. So, it's not always easy for the other person in the relationship to realize that "Hey, my newly acquired significant other here is exhibiting signs of sociopathy." And I'm thinking that Justin in the OP video should have come across a little more like how this following video does:
