At Least 20 Killed in Possible Suicide Blast at Manchester Arena Concert

At least 20 people were killed and possibly hundreds of others were injured after one or more loud bangs were heard Monday night at an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena in England, multiple law enforcement told NBC News.

Multiple U.S. officials briefed on the investigation so far said preliminary reports indicate that a single explosion took place outside the arena on the southwest side opposite the Manchester Victoria transit station, which is part of the greater arena complex.

The explosion occurred as the concert ended, catching people as they exited.

Numbers will most likely be subject to change over the next couple of hours. There are always conflicting reports this early after a tragedy, as media outlets scramble to be first with new information.

Last time there was a bad incident in the UK, there was media speculation - some of it from North America - all about supposedly perfidious foreigners, etc., and then it turned out that someone local did it; i.e., "banning" foreigners would not have made any difference. Some media outlets are highly irresponsible.

I would say evil requires the intent to be so. A desire to cause nothing more than suffering and pain and death, or being willing to use those as a means to reach an end.

Yes.

I remember seeing first hand the devastation their bomb wreaked on Manchester, it seemed like half the city centre was closed down. At least they sent a warning beforehand, everyone was evacuated and there were no fatalities (they're still murderous scum, mind).
