If we have to have ask questions about God, then I guess that means we don't really know him.
??? Can one know everything about the infinite God of All? I don't see how... There will always be more to learn about Him, more questions to ask about His awesome, limitless power, wisdom and nature. These questions don't mean God is a stranger to us, however.
Who asks questions about someone they know?
I ask my wife questions about herself all the time. "How was your day?" "How are you feeling?" "What do you think about x, y, or z?" "Did you enjoy thus-and-so?" And so on. It doesn't follow that because I know my wife I ought not to ask questions about her. There's never an end to the things I can know about my wife. How much more true is this when it comes to God?!
Why are we asking questions here? Doesn't the holy spirit guide us into all truth and knowledge of him?
He does. But into the truth and knowledge of God revealed in Scripture. (See 2 Timothy 3:16-17) Sometimes, what one reads in Scripture is not immediately clear or sensible. And so, one may have questions. This isn't a bad thing; it's just the natural consequence of being a thinking person.
I wonder if the holy spirit is being ignored here or something? Or maybe some people don't know the spirit either.
??? The mere presence of questions about God doesn't mean the Holy Spirit is being ignored. People come to understand God and His truth progressively - just we come to know each other progressively. Why, then, does asking questions about God mean the Spirit is a stranger?
Jesus said his sheep know his voice cause they are familiar with it, you know why? Cause they know him and are famaliar with his ways from being one and in the presence of him through his spirit, the holy spirit, the spirit of God.
And how do you even know there is such a thing as the Holy Spirit and that He will lead you into all truth about God? How do you know what Jesus said about his sheep? Because the Bible tells you so. Well, the Bible has a lot of stuff in it. No one can know and understand it all overnight. Not even someone who has the Spirit helping them. A Christian comes to know God and His truth over time, in part through asking questions about both things and by searching through the Bible, under the supervision of the Spirit, for answers.
If we have to question something about God, we must don't know him.
This is a giant non sequitur. See above.
Do people truly know God or just the idea, the cliches of him and the stuff they hear about him from others?
I don't know. What about you?
