I like it as much as the article describes. DACA didn't offer anyway to citizenship so they were in a permanent state of limbo.

We don't usually punish the children for the crimes of their parents. In this case, the kids don't know any other country. This is "home" for them the same as any other kid raised here. It is cruel to deport someone to a country they have hardly ever lived in. The kids have to earn the right to be here by being productive citizens. The DECA plan does not apply to any kid with any criminal record.

If you have not lived there since you were a very small child, don't speak the language, don't know the culture, and have no place to live .... I do think that is punishing someone who did nothing wrong. They still have to earn their citizenship here and be able to make a living and not have a criminal record...so it isn't a free gift.
