Report: 13K In Maryland Lost Insurance Thanks to Obamacare and Never Got It Back

BTW although article is from political outcast, it includes quotes from CNS and also the Baltimore Sun.

Noticed that Obama was "pleased as punch" that he SUDDENLY (because only the day before the program was officially short of interested folks needed to reach that mark and even the government would not tell the actual numbers) reached the 7 million mark on Obamacare. Well, as has been seen in ALL of Obama's speeches, one must pay close attention to the actual WORDS SAID and not make any assumptions that he REALLY meant to say. Well in this case, he said "signed up", and we know that it's not the same as "obtaining". (Heck one HAS to "sign up" just to find out that it's too expensive to "obtain".)

Liked what that one comedienne noted about reaching the goal--it's to be expected when one forces folks to carry health insurance under penalty, destroys their already existing health insurance so they are forced to choose the government's sub-par one, AND keeps delaying the closing date until the goal is reached. A funny comment with more than a grain of salt. Too bad the man's career will be over because of it--seems that too many jokes about the Obama means retirement a la Jay Leno.

Also, this article notes that if you're trying to buy insurance privately (another thing Obama said you could do) and you will probably be unable to do so most of the time.

    From article:

Many people who didn't sign up during the government's open enrollment period that ended Monday will soon find it difficult or impossible to get insured this year, even if they go directly to a private company and money is no object. For some it's already too late.

Nate Purpura, spokesman for eHealthInsurance.com, which sells policies from 200 companies across the nation, said at this point he knows of none planning to offer major medical insurance after this month, except to people with qualifying life events.

That's pretty common practice. You can't add or make changes outside of the open enrollment period unless you have certain things happen.

I also suspected that about why Jay Leno had to leave. He used to tell a lot of jokes about Obama. I've heard that the young entertainers who may be conservative have to keep it a secret and can't stand up to Hollywood like the older ones can because the older ones already made their money while the younger ones are still trying to get their career established. I think Hollywood has figured this out, so they replaced Leno with one that is young and easier for them to control.

Yeah, never believed that excuse "he was fired because of age". Those over forty are a protected class in employment. (There are age discrimination laws.) If Jay Leno was fired for age like was said, he could have sued the dickens out of the Tonight Show.

The Network had to use another excuse--just couldn't use age.

I'm sure the fact that he wasn't even slightly funny had nothing to do with it. It was another Hollywood liberal conspiracy.

Although I find the reason you proposed to be rather unlikely, this is an interesting read:

I have a strong suspicion that if conservatives make a sweep in the November elections, the lid on "Obamacare" is going to blow wide open. It'll probably be a scandal on the level of Watergate and Teapot Dome tied together.

You can't add or change if you're in a group plan. Private, personal plans never used to have this problem.

I agree. The way they pushed this on us by use of the federal tax system (thus avoiding 'state's rights') is underhanded enough, but when people start seeing the true financial effects this will have on them--I see a complete revolt against "Obamacare" on all sides.

It's already started. I was talking to a tax accountant while standing in line at the store the other day; he said about 7/8ths of the people he's dealt with have all declined to sign up for Obamacare, preferring to take the tax hit instead, and wait it out. They all think it's going to either blow up, collapse of it's own weight, or be repealed by a new legislature.

What I think people don't realize is that if you don't keep your income exactly even, you'll owe money at the end of the year. If you're getting $300 a month in subsidies and you really only qualify for $200 at the end of the year (because you got a raise or a bonus), then you'll owe $1,200 in taxes due to a 'change in income'.
