Bowhunting opens this Saturday here in beautiful 'Sconsin". I don't hunt until the bugs and the heat are gone though, around mid-October. Til then I get my shooting muscles in shape, and cut firewood. Life is good!

I practice with broadheads only on my own life-size "shoot-through" deer silhouette targets. It's fun to 'hunt' the targets from different positions and distances, including my tree stand.

A few bad hits, but not bad for starters. I limit my distance to 20 yards. Most deer I kill are 12-15 yards. Bow is a 40# Martin "Hunter". Great bow, fast and quiet.

Good luck to all who bow hunt. Have a safe season. :)

Fill yer boots :) can't see the fun in killing animals! But hey ho! :)

The more who don't hunt the better. More room in the woods for those who do. ;)

P.S. I wear sneakers (I'm a sneaky rascal).

I really need to work on my bow. I have a compound that should work well at 40 but I think I am going to stick to 30 for now.

I might drop to #35, for a little better accuracy. Accuracy, arrow flight, and sharp broadheads are more important than pull weight.
