Per Dan Bongino:
People flee socialist states (for freer ones). People flee Communist countries (for free enterprise ones). How does such a misery-making ideology keep getting "pushed" into communities, onto peoples?

lol, keep telling yourself that. While you continue to stumble around, bewildered at how these "misery-making ideologies" keep spreading, I'll be sitting over here, gleefully watching all of those red states get flooded with left-leaning urban professionals looking for jobs, but unable or unwilling to pay the exorbitant real estate prices in the states with the high outflows.

I thought a good part of that 2 billion payout was to bail out their states so they could stay at home?

So they would leave to take advantage of greener pastures of their opposition? Hardly seems loyal or logical. Why not just fix things at home?

How do you propose they fix the high housing prices they're fleeing?

Tell their state government to get working on it and do like the states they are running to (while in the process of bailing they are creating a sellers market and driving the prices up)?

That's a good idea. If only people were doing that.

Oh wait, they are doing that.

In many places, it's not working - a lot of entrenched interests have incentives to restrict housing supply. In places where it is working, it's not working quickly enough.

and do like the states they are running to (while in the process of bailing they are creating a sellers market and driving the prices up)?

The places they're going have a long ways to go before reaching the sort of density and saturation of the places they're fleeing. Half of the places on that list were NYC or immediately adjacent to it. In most of those cases, it's likely impossible for the destinations to experience the same sort of crunch, since they're not as geographically bounded and, thus, have more room to sprawl. Where is Nassau County, NY going to sprawl to when it's bounded on three sides by NYC and the Atlantic Ocean?

Also, there's a strong chance that Sarasota, Ft Myers, and Melbourne are on that list because of retirees moving south.
