  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.

No, the connection between the Great Reset presentation and Biden's campaign slogan is a conspiracy theory. I thought Wednesday made it clear how dangerous it is to push such rubbish.

How do you figure? All the nations and corporations that are part of the Great Reset including Canada are all using the BBB slogan as their battle cry. It originated with the WEF. No theory there, just fact.

It was a WEF proposal. No countries have signed on to it. It would take a concerted global effort, and there isn't enough support. Biden liked the idea. He's not trying to implement it.

things really haven't changed since Noah's day.

(Mat 7:13) Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
(Mat 7:14) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

the lost outnumber the saved; it may seem different in one nation or another, or at one time or another, but its not.

(1Sa 8:7) And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.
(1Sa 8:8) According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.
(1Sa 8:9) Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.

the lost like to follow a king. every government has someone who serves as an 'apparent king' to the citizens; often this is used to distract the people from what the lawmakers are doing.

the freedoms guaranteed by law and recognized and enforced by courts, and the extensive financial influence with other nations, are core strengths of the USA; and these have not been shaken. it may look like the US government is falling apart, but if you'll look closely, congress is actually in control and following lawful process - i'm not saying that they are doing this in perfect integrity, but that the American system of government is stable, and working even now, in times when the country appears to be tearing itself apart.

A major reason why there was more free speech 1994 is because the political class felt secure in its power - it didn’t feel it needed censorship.

The article is clearly not from a politically conservative source. It has skewed facts and offered interpretations of events that give its political position away. By the end of the article, the smell of Leftist propaganda was pretty strong.

One can only hope. I pray that Trumpism will fade into obscurity, but at the same time I wonder if another demagogue/populist will now rise to take his place, since he's now paved the way for them. I also hope that democrats having complete control doesn't begin to cause other issues.

^This is one of the main things that causes me concern, as both a Christian and an American. God is now wholly on one side or the other. Party politics are being intertwined with faith, and political messages are being preached in more churches than I can ever remember. My wife and I left a church that we had attended for 5 years because the lead pastor and staff decided to start using the pulpit for political messaging.

Despite all that, I echo the thoughts of some others here, that the news tends to report on the worst of what they see. In day to day life, there's a lot of good in the people of the U.S., and I have to believe that we're not that far gone. Unfortunately, the people who are at the political extremes tend to be the loudest ones and they attract the most attention. And they have been very successful in rallying people to their causes as of late, because people in general tend toward tribalism.

Hillary and Michelle have been smirking openly. What's your guess that as spited beings they will seek to do as the previous agenda gets rolling again?

The entire world seems to be expert on the United States. Don't you wish you had such a clear view of America as the pundits from all corners of the globe who have never been here or maybe just for a few weeks vacation?
Perish that our pundits should publish articles about whether the American pundits thought the Hereditary Title of Queen should be abolished. It would be seen as rude and presumptuous, rather.
If we need any experts, just ask the Aussies or the Brits or even the Russians. AL Jazeera always has an analysis, very pompously presented.

It seems to me that there is a generation of the perpetually offended oozing out of tertiary institutions. Some of those people will wake up once they are in the real world, no doubt. Others will continue to spread the myths that lead to such lies as "white privilege" and the blame game against baby boomers who have supposedly destroyed the future of the current crop of university students.

Education has been taken over by the socialist left. There used to be something called debate. Now the attack is on the individual rather than the arguments that he/she presents. It's ugly and depressing to listen to. Sometimes, at least in Australia, so-called conservatives have been assaulted in an attempt to silence them. Yes, right wing extremists are no better. It's not the average family trying to get along that is the problem. It never has been. The current struggle is for control of the narrative. If the leftists win, you can expect an authoritarian regime that silences dissent. And much the same from right wing except with a different political agenda. As in any war, the real casualties are the innocent just trying to get along.

I take your point. However, I've been observing the US for 50 years now. Australia has a great interest in US affairs as our military is intertwined with yours. They used to say, "If America sneezes, Australia catches cold." Economically that is not the case now. Australia is more involved with China, as we are finding to our cost.

There is some apprehension here that the US will become embroiled in internal matters and leave the Asia Pacific region to sort itself out. The apprehension is based on China's actions in unilaterally taking control of the South China sea and how it is building potential bases in the region. The US is powerful enough to keep China at bay - for the moment. Australia is building up its military but it's hard to see how we could compete with China.

Yes, like I said, I don't agree with everything and the ABC is definitely biased. However, the last few weeks of Mr Trump's presidency have been "interesting" to say the least. Will it all blow over after this election? I don't know. I cannot see that the issues that led to Mr Trump's election have been resolved. I'll be glad to be proven wrong.

The USA is stronger and more resilient than this article understands. In many ways the events of the last week and utter contempt that Trump is now held in by many Americans are part of the healing process. By demonstrating the extremes they have been shown to be untenable and so now people can move on.

The biggest crisis in the USA right now is one of truth. People lie about the seriousness of the covid-19 threat. People lie about a "stolen election". The depth of that delusional thinking is really quite shocking. People are simply blind to many of the most serious crises facing the USA today: The Pandemic, an economy that works for the super rich and is fueled by debt, the insecurity of Americans about health care, the historic divisions of the races. A partisan political culture is a product of this inability to recognize truth and to find common ground by being honest with each other. Everything is a battle for victory, because everything is lost, if you lose, is the mentality.

Christians too, on both sides, are vulnerable to the lies generated by this culture:

On the right there is a preoccupation with guns which verges on the psychotic since they are no defense against drones, tanks and missiles and the various other weaponry of the state and just contribute to a violent and deadly gun culture. God is squeezed into an ideology of freedom and private enterprise that in practice rewards Big Pharma, lawyers and insurance companies and means that many Americans have no health care and less money in their pocket if they do. Education quality varies massively and people can be made homeless with the loss of their jobs. Immigrants are 'enemies' and black people should not be allowed to live in our neighborhood cause they will 'drive our house prices down'.

On the left the woke politically correct culture is equally deceptive , suggesting sins are good in 'gay pride' rallies or abortion clinics, stamping on freedom of expression and marginalizing Jesus to just one choice among many.

I think the way forward starts in the little conversations of divided families and on forums such as this. Tell the truth, admit when you are wrong. Seek the truth together rather than fight your position to the last. Be honest - simple really.

Fascination with the monarchy in the USA implies that Americans have not entirely let go of the idea themselves. Many of the pundits you dismiss have connections and interests in the USA and have as much right to commentate as you do on what is first and foremost a Christian forum. If Americans discredit the name of God with delusional thinking on covid-19 or on a 'stolen election' then this demands a response from honest people wherever they live. Time to listen and come out of those bubbles of deceit. Or are you an American first and a Christian only second? (That is a question not a statement)
