Define "survive in this world".
Surviving economically. Almost like having the equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree today.

“Imagine it’s eight years from now. All the other kids in your daughter’s third-grade class are way ahead of her because their brains are connected directly to Google and a calculator, and they’re SMSing back and forth by Wi-Fi telepathy between their brains while your daughter sits there in class being stunted because she must memorize things the old-fashioned way and can’t send messages brain-to-brain.”

Cool, that's super tough for those without. That's basically like being forbidden from learning to read today.

That sounds like technology I'd be happy to use (is want to be reasonably sure it's safe).

So will Christians become cognitive second-class citizens going forward?

Perhaps it's the difference between knowledge and wisdom.

Knowledge is really about facts and ideas that we acquire through study, research, investigation, observation, or experience. Wisdom is the ability to discern and judge which aspects of that knowledge are true, right, lasting, and applicable to your life.

How will AI - discern knowledge? Will it include the Word of God? If so, how will it discern God and His Word. As christians we rely upon the Word of God and His Holy Spirit for discernment (wisdom). Will AI have control over discernment? Will it decide what is right/wrong and based on what?

We don't know at this point many answers to important questions, nor what or how AI will be "mingled" with the human brain and what it will control. Will we have control over it ... or ... will it have control over us?

Lot's of things to consider ... where it ends up? Who knows ???

Meaning will we be merging with technology? If you had to merge with AI either through wearing something on you or consuming something would you do it in order to be able to survive in this world?

With the technology of AI, human is going to do more mass killing.
We thrived without AI till now.

Wait, so people currently aren't yet merged with their smartphones?

But those things don’t make you smarter. I’m talking strictly intelligence here. If you could wear or ingest something that would make you a billion times smarter would you do it?

When you put it like that, I'm gonna go ahead and assume that that is also ALL it does. So no additional side effects, no tracking systems, no privacy invasion, etc....

ONLY becoming a billion times smarter?

Sure, why not.

Mass killings have been a part of humanity since the dawn of civilisation.

The modern world with all its sophisticated computers is mostly less violent.

This is exactly what Eve did bringing sin and death to us all. She didn't get what the serpent promised.

Well, how could she?

It's like putting a 3-year old in the same room as a loaded gun and placing an unsupervised adult next to it telling the toddler that it's ok to play with the gun.

What do you think will happen?
It's a ridiculous story.

In some ways, we already operate as human machine-hybrids, If a caveman came into the modern world, he would be astounded at how symbiotic we are with the various machines we use. We use cars to get from point A to point B and air conditioners to regulate our temperature.
And I have yet to see a millenial who was not glued to their i-phone or android!

Edit: I see I have echoed Tagliatelli Monster's post #27. Great minds (unencumbered by AI) think alike . . . . . .
