Due to the global economy, I would like to get others perspectives on the times that we are living in right now. From what you know about the Great Depression...if you know anything, do you consider this any worse then that time, and if so how?If you believe that we are going into the tribulation, what is your reasoning? I personally believe that we have entered that time, and there will be no recovery to this economic crises. We will spiral right into the time of the Antichrists reign.

Unemployment reached 25% in the Great Depression. We're nowhere close.

Don't forget that China, India, and other "emerging" markets are still fairly close to the beginning of their industrial revolution.

I'm thinking more along the lines of the 1907 bank panic, than 1929-32.

this global problem with the econaomy does not have to be or become as bad as the great depression. God said they will be eating and drinking, like in Noah's day, no word of bad economy there, people were eating and drinking.
it's a combination of many things happening and on the horizon that makes me think great tribulation will soon be upon us.

well, it is who they were marrying and having children with, that is/should be of interest...Gen6. And also that the flood came upon those people when they did not expect it....when they did not believe the preacher Noah when he preached about it for 100+ years.

giving and taking in marriage to the fallen angels/angelic who come with Satan n Rev12, disguised as ministers of light2Cor11:13-115, IMO, possibly deceiving all the pre tribbers, and many others with his flood of lies that comes from his mouth....probably something like....I've come to gather you...just wait a little bit...soon!...

if you think that pre trib rapture is possible, this will get you....we are to be prepared, to be a watchman for the ENEMY, else you will be taken in deception by the false one that comes FIRST to deceive you.

....there will be a famine in the end times, but not for food specifically....for rightly dividing the Word of God...but it seems that inflation will come in really strong...bread costing a days pay, kinda thing! Amos8:11, Rev6:5-6

there are many biblical things and prophesies coming to light that assure me that we are not yet there, but close...at the door, in the season...close to the hour of temptation whch is to come upn the whole world..., to which we are supposed to show patience (in which we posess our souls...

Well, at our place, we dont even think about this "global economy" at all. New businesses are started here and no banks are even affacted. I was en england recently and the churches there didnt even think or talk about this "crisis" either, since they were way to occupied by the present glory, outpouring, revival, healings, deliverance and soulwinning.

I think Obama is generally not the best guy in leadership, but in these times he probably will stear trough the financial problems of USA better than many other candidates. In 4 years it will show how incredible little christlike it was to proclaim him as the "antichrist", som of perdition, predestined to be cast alive in to hell!

    Well...have you read Isaiah 19 ?

    Isaiah 19 (King James Version)

1The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.

2And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.

3And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.

4And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.

5And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.

6And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither.

7The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.

8The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.

9Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks, shall be confounded.

10And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish.

11Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?

12Where are they? where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt.

13The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.

14The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.

15Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.

matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

as i said they will be eating and drinking, dosn't sound as bad as the great depression.

there are no verses about giving and taking in marriage to the fallen angels who come with satan in rev 12.

On the contrary! This is the final proof that we are in the final days and that Jesus will come and rescue us all from Gods enemy Obama very soon! We are eating and drinking, just as the prophecy said! And just as ppl never ate and drank before, we also never had financial troubles before, neither were there wars, rumors of war and not even earthquakes. Obama invented earthquakes early in the 90ts as we all know.

Well...I was born in 1932 during Prohibition and the great depression, but as I remember, we did a lot of eating and drinking at the time, lol.

My dad and uncles made their own booze, and when we got hungry, we stopped at the local butchers shop, and he would slaughter a cow behind his shop and sell us soup bones, heart, liver, tongue, etc ... things my wife refuses to cook today, lol. But it was real food then, not this crap sold in today's supermarkets. People were poor but there seemed to be adequate food to go around, except maybe in the dust bowl in the southwest...I don't know about them. Since we were near the railroad tracks, we had hobo's stop at our house two or three times a week for a food handout, but these were mostly young men who offered to do odd chores, like paint our house number on the steps. One day a hobo stopped and asked my mom for a drink of water, and when she handed a glass to him, he grabbed her. She screamed, which woke my dad who was taking a nap, and dad chased him barefoot up the street for two or three blocks before he got away, lol.

No one said that Gods Spirit suddenly disappears during tribulation. Maybe England is one of the last vestages of His outpouring. I hear the Church of England is pretty sedate and they probably need "shaking up." Also, Swedens unemployment rate in Dec of 2008 was 6.7%, which is not much less then the USA right now at 7.6%. The USA's economy has affected ALL nations to some degree, so I can't believe that Sweden was unaffected. They deal in our stock market as all nations/countries do. You evidently aren't paying attention to the mess that all countries are in because of this...OR, it hasn't affected you personally yet. If this is the beginnings of the tribulation, it will.
Only God can judge if it is "unChristlike' to call Obama the Antichrist. So far, my conscience is totally clear in this area because I see what I see, and I was shown what I was shown.

Jobless rate 7.6 pct; 598K job cuts most since '74

Recession-battered employers eliminated 598,000 jobs in January, the most since the end of 1974, and catapulted the unemployment rate to 7.6 percent. The grim figures were further proof that the nation's job climate is deteriorating at an alarming clip with no end in sight.
It isn't going to get any better. If it hasn't affected you yet, feel fortunate. We haven't seen any money coming in for 2 months and are living on our meager savings. My husbands business dried up. I know many people where I live who are in as bad as shape or worse. I do believe that my God will supply all of my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus..Phil 4:19.

Well becoming as bad as the Great Depression or even worse would not of necessity signal the Tribulation was upon us. The Tribulation will be worse than any time prior to THAT time not necessarily OUR time. So... if we go into a time worse than say 14th century Europe when 1/3 of the population died, even worse than that, that would not of necessity mean the Tribulation was upon us. There could be times worse than all that has happened up until now and still the Tribulation could come later.

Here's a little something to chaw on...

We could see a world leader enforce a kind of unified idolotrous religion as requisite to buy or sell and STILL not be in the Tribulation. We could see worldwide war and famine and STILL not be in the Tribulation. The Great Depression is no yardstick of anything. The Black Plague has it beat. Shucks, WWII has them both beat.

Thank you &Abel. Of this I have no doubt ;) It is just harder then anything that my family and friends have ever lived through before. We aren't used to it yet. Call me spoiled, but I like a paycheck coming in every week ^_^ I look at those who are retired and drawing their retirement and social security every month in pretty good shape right now. At least they have hope of a check coming every month. They just passed a law in California that all government workers have to take off on Fridays because of lack of funds in California. It was implemented starting today. They were talking last week about closing the County hospital here in my city where all the indigent people go....ME, lol. I don't know yet what happened with that idea. That will throw those without medical insurance without any care at all. It's a gettin' spooky.

Well, I've said it before and I'll say it again.

The first four seals are the "tribulation" and have been "riding" since Christ ascended and sent them out.

The "tribulation" ends when the Day of the Lord/Day of Wrath begins at the 6th seal.

The reign of the devil is during the 7th seal wrath of God which includes the trumpets, the beasts, the two witnesses and the bowls.

Every believer who has ever lived has been enduring the tribulation (wars, famines, plagues, pestilences, persecution and martyrdom) since Christ ascended and sent the riders out but born again Christians will not endure the wrath of God (trumpets, beasts, two witnesses, bowls).

Did you vote for that "B" actor (talent wise) who, like George Bush, spent like a liberal Democrat? Those folks who are retired and receiving checks, which are in good shape now, will at some point have to decide on taking the mark and receiving their checks, or joining the rest of us. I too have been out of work since November so I can "feel your pain" but I'll get by. I'll include you in my prayer BMN.

Well, you have said it before, and I will say what I have said once again ^_^ Dear Jen, if you read Matthew 24:8, it says that these things are the beginning of sorrows. What things? The things that Jesus had just stated in verses -1-7...No mention of tribulation yet. Jesus even states in verse 8.. All these are the beginning of sorrows, the things he had just stated before he gets to verse 9. It goes from the beginning of sorrows right into the great tribulation...which will be a BIG sorrow!!!
The Great tribulation doesn't start until the abomination of desolation, but what we are in right now could very well start the tribulation period itself. There have been earthquakes, wars, pestilences, famines and persecutions since the fall in the garden!! The first recorded earthquake in the bible was in 1 Kings 19:11. The first recorded war was in Genesis 14:2. The first famine recorded was in Genesis 12:10. The first prophecied pestilence was in Exodus 5:3. David was talking about being persecuted in Psalm 31:15. JESUS WASN'T EVEN BORN YET TO SEND RIDERS OUT so these aren't the same "beginning of sorrows" events. These particular riders had to have started ONLY since Jesus acension, and are NOT the tribulation. Jesus even says after the abomination of desolation verse in 15, 6 verses down in verse 21...For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
The trumpets, beast, and two witnesses are NOT the wrath!!! The wrath doesn't start until right after the two witnesses are caught up in Rev chapter 11:12, and right before the last and seventh angel sounds. The wrath starts in verse 18. Why you can't see that is beyond me. The scriptural sequence is right there.

NO, I didn't vote for the Terminator lol!!! Out here we call him the Governator. Some call him a lot worse  Thank you Ephesian, I will pray for you also. That is quite possible having to take the mark to receive your checks, or more likely totally running out of money and having to take the mark to buy or sell on "beast" assistance instead of Welfare.
