Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.

For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

Thou shalt not kill.

Thou shalt not commit adultery.

Thou shalt not steal.

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Exodus 20:3 until 20:17.

All of them use a form of "shall" (or "shalt"), except Honour thy father and thy mother.

Are they prophetic?

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Matthew 22:37-39

Will all people love God with all their heart, soul and mind and their neighbour as themselves?

This is a very productive and illuminating way of understanding your obedience and commitment to the Word of God. Obedience is prophetic to the peace you will find, or the lack thereof. In one simple presentation that we have been given; "we reap what we sow", therefore I will finish with a verse:

Galatians 6:8. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption;
but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

No. Commandments are commandments (like rules). Prophecies are prophecies (events of the future told in the past).

Or messages from God. I agree that the Commandments would not be considered prophecies

All this came to pass:
Curses on Disobedience Deuteronomy 28:
15“But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:
16“Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country.
17“Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
18“Cursed shall be the [e]fruit of your body and the produce of your land, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.
19“Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.
20 through 68.

Deuteronomy 34:10. And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses,
whom the LORD knew face to face,
All the prophets warnings to Israel concerning their need to repent were repeating
the warnings they had already received from Moses in the Law.

According to how I have understood English, the word "shall" can be used as a prediction and therefore possibly a prophecy, but it also can have the sense of commanding or requiring. It is stronger in the requiring sense, than simply saying "I want you to do something." It means there is no option.

And there can be a combined meaning, of what is desired to be done and if it will be done. "Shall we walk along the lake, this morning?" "Yes, we shall." This can be a loving way of asking a companion what he or she would like to do, while also expressing your preference.

So, I see how "shall" can mean an order, or it can mean a prediction . . . or a loving invitation.
