apparently Kim Jung Un was correct in his assessment of President Trump.

Talk about jumping to conclusions, before we can call accusations false we need to determine the facts. There are three ongoing investigations now looking into criminal activities in the Obama administration. There seems to be plenty to investigate. I have to ask why the msm never claimed that the Russia witch hunt was a false accusation. All the time that investigation was going on all their news assumed that Trump was guilty but not so with Obama. Double standards again. At this point we need to allow the investigations to conclude, find out who gets indicted and for what, and then we can jump to conclusions about what should be done. Nice try at getting people fired up over nothing.
Over 120,000 dead, 2.3 million testing positive, 35,000 new cases daily and 40 million unemployed and Trump supporters think that the during an election year the electorate will be content with a partisan investigation of the Obama Investigation - what's next, the resurrection of the "birther" search for his birth certificate!

The nation faces major problems and is in search of leadership capable of providing serious solutions - this Republican Senate investigation sends the message loud and clear that despite being confronted by an active pandemic and record unemployment.. their response to these crises is an Obama Investigation 5 months before the election!

Did you also feel that way about the Russia witch hunt or the impeachment hearings which resulted in big nothings? Most people are intelligent enough to not hold Trump responsible for Covid.

Kim claimed that President Trump was a dotard. This certainly seems like the plan of a dotard. Hey, all you evangelical christians out there. Has President Trump convinced you that there was an effort to spy on a campaign and that it is a treasonable offense. Nixon did it and I don't remember anyone claiming that he had committed treason. He had just broken the law by covering up the break in at the Watergate compound to pilfer the Democratic offices for information. Of course, just as in this case, there was never found any evidence that he knew about it before the fact, but different in this case is that he was found to be complicit in covering it up after the fact.

The Founders made it very hard to get a treason conviction, because they knew it is the habit of demogogues to use spurious accusations of treason as a weapon against their enemies. They knew people like Trump would come along, and they made sure he wouldn't be able to do it.

The Republican party in Richard Nixon's day did exactly that and no one ever accused them of treason.

Interestingly, Nixon did once suggest that investigations against him were treasonous, but he only did it once, after congressional republicans let him know that he was in dangerous territory.

Did you also feel that way about the Russia witch hunt or the impeachment hearings which resulted in big nothings?

The hearings resulted in Trump being the third U.S. president to actually be impeached. Which sure sounds like something.

And the Russia probe?
Here Are All of the Indictments, Guilty Pleas and Convictions From Robert Mueller's Investigation
  • Russian troll farm: Charged with distributing Russian propaganda
  • Russian spies: Charged with stealing Democratic emails
  • Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort: Sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for financial crimes
  • Konstantin Kilimnik: Charged with obstruction of justice
  • Trump confidant Roger Stone: Convicted of lying to Congress
  • Former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn: Pleaded guilty to lying to investigators
  • Former Trump campaign aide Rick Gates: Pleaded guilty to lying to investigators
  • Former Trump personal lawyer Michael Cohen: Pleaded guilty to tax and bank charges, campaign finance violations and lying to Congress
  • Former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos: Served 12 days in prison for lying to investigators
  • Alex van der Zwaan: Served 30 days in prison for lying to investigators
  • Richard Pinedo: Sentenced to six months in prison for identity theft
  • Sam Patten: Pleaded guilty to failing to register as a foreign lobbyist
  • Bijan Kian and Skim Alptekin: Charged with conspiring to violate lobbying laws
Seems like "something" there, too.

Just a few things..
The DNC never allowed the FBI to actually investigate the stolen e-mails. The DNC hired an outside organization to investigate and the FBI had no choice but to take their word for it. Highly suspicious. Manafort has already been released due to covid. His crimes had nothing to do with Russiagate. Flynn case is about to be overturned and it's likely that he will be rewarded restitution for persecution he's endured. It's highly likely that Papadopoulos and others will recieve the same.

Hi barbarian,

Thanks for that:
Interestingly, Nixon did once suggest that investigations against him were treasonous, but he only did it once, after congressional republicans let him know that he was in dangerous territory.

Right. I understand that Nixon said that about the investigations, which is the same thing that Trump is saying about the investigations in this case. However, my point was that no one ever raised the idea, outside of those being investigated, that what Nixon did, and even those who participated in the break in, amounted to treason. That's what Trump is trying to claim, that somehow Obama was involved in treason. So far, there don't seem to be many of his lap dogs that are sniffing him up in approval regarding the charge.

Of course, Trump still thinks that Obama is a muslim plant that was actually born in the middle east or Africa somewhere. While he has publicly said that he was putting the birther claims to rest, I don't think in his head that he ever has.

God bless,
In Christ, ted

and what has all that to do with Trump. Nothing. Looks like just exactly what it is any attempt to find a way to justify the investigation once they knew that there was nothing there, which it is turning out was quite early in the process, infarct even before the investigation began. Reminder the person who appointed the investigation is now regretting his decision and looking for someone to blame for misinformation he was given.

All Trump associates, underlings, or active in the Russian effort to get Trump elected. Would you like some details? If so, we'll do one at a time for you.

Mueller raked in a large number of criminals associated with Trump; the fines collected will actually pay for the investigation.

Get over it the investigation proved nothing that could be linked to Trump.

They were big nothings largely because the DOJ has a standing policy not to charge or prosecute a sitting president with a crime until after he leaves office and that this Attorney General has made it his first priority to circle the wagons around this President and his associates!

Michael Cohen was charged, convicted and sentenced because of criminal acts that he committed but weren't conducted for his own benefit, but that of his benefactor, "INDIVIDUAL 1" - are we to believe that while the hired help can be convicted, "The Godfather" who they serve deserves a free pass under the law?

That has been completely debunked as an excuse look at the testimony of Mueller in the hearings. Regarding Michael Cohen he was acting as an attorney and the client has every reason to trust that their attorney would not violate the law.

Clint, they were all linked to Trump. Either Trump is an exceptionally dirty politician, Obama was an exceptionally clean politician, or the republicans are the worst "investigators" since Inspector Clousseau. Or all three of those, maybe.

Trump's innocence or guilt on Mueller's documentation of his attempts to obstruct the investigations will have to wait until he leaves office. Likewise his criminal liability, if any, in paying off a inappropriate content star to hide his adultery during the campaign. We shall see.

well if Trump was in violation of anything then the Dems are the worlds worst at impeaching, they certainly tired every dirty trick in the book to make it work and went home no self respect what so ever.

They rather easily presented enough evidence, and he was duly impeached. Fortunately for Trump, the Republican Senate prevented witnesses and evidence, and refused to convict him. Won't matter in the long run.

Trump is now one of three American presidents to be impeached. That, and the tens of thousands of dead Americans, caused by his bungling of the COVID-19 pandemic, will be his legacy.

He could, if he mans up and starts being a president. If he leads us out of this disaster, people will forgive him, and vote for him.

Doesn't seem very likely, does it? His increasing cognitive and physical difficulties seem to be overwhelming him, now. It's not just talking about George Washington seizing airports, or about injecting disinfectant; it's his repeated difficulties getting a cup to his lips, trouble walking down a ramp, forgetting what he's doing in the middle of an event.

I don't think he's got enough left to pull himself together.

Have you checked the condition of his competition? You should be very, very worried if Trump is not reelected because we will be without a president.

See above. Physical stamina isn't the only requirement for a president, but it is one of them. As you see, Trump just doesn't have it, and Biden does. It's more than Trump's sundowning and loss of cognitive ability. He doesn't have Biden's physical fitness, either.
