My dad (doesn't use the net) was asking if I could find a study or something along those lines about the specific verse Revelation 13:16-18
16 And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, 17 and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six.
Hi tell you dad to 1st study the chapter that it is in as many focus on what the mark is tech wise and miss the main context of the chapter regarding it.
The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who
is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” 5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue[fn] for forty-two months.
The dragon is Satan and the one who comes 1st survives a mortal wound or is resurrected. 2nd this man will cause people to worship him and the dragon so he will proclaim what the Mason's already teach that Lucifer is the light barer. He is then given 42 month with this authority.
It goes on in Ch 13 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe,[fn] tongue, and nation. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
when he gets this authority he will war with the saints and his authority is over the whole earth and many will worship him.
At the time all this is going on then...
11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceives those[fn] who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15 He was granted
power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or[fn] the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number
is 666.
The false prophet comes and can call fire from heaven as a sign and he creates both the image of the beast and enforces the mark of the beast which is either a mark name or number.
The end of the beast comes in Chapter 20.
1 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him
was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes
were like a flame of fire, and on His head
were many crowns. He had[fn] a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He
was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean,[fn] followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp[fn] sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on
His robe and on His thigh a name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God,[fn] 18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all
people, free[fn] and slave, both small and great.”
19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.
So after 42 months we see Jesus coming and this is when the beast is defeated.
In 2 Thess 2 we see the man of sin revealed and he is the same guy as the beast in Rev. as though the day of Christ[fn] had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for
that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin[fn] is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God[fn] in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
This is important to note that he says he is God in the Temple. This is a huge sign.
7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He[fn] who now restrains
will do so until He[fn] is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 9 The coming of the
lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousnes.
Note that this one is revealed in the temple and is given power also by Satan and he too is destroyed by the coming of the LORD and it says many will believe the lie.
If you understand who is involved and when it takes place it is very specific that the mark of the beast does not come about apart from the Jews getting the 3rd temple and the man of sin aka the beast being revealed in it, claiming to be a God and proclaiming lucifer as God and demanding worship of Satan and himself.
If you have this context the speculation of what is the image of the beast or the mark is now in its proper context. As technology grows the possibilities of what it can be are changing quickly from barcodes to RDIF chips and who knows what it will ultimately be.
