Anyone ever been to a Renaissance faire?

I remember when i was young,i went to the one in Maryland,which was a little ride out of Edgewater

I used to go to that one,before i moved across the country to Hawaii in 1993. The only things i think we have near me is the SCA and some medieval combat group.

I think i saw someone at comic con honolulu dressed in armour.

But i not sure if he had to get a permit to do that.

I did years ago! I'd love to go again some day, though. It's a great deal of fun!

When I went last time, there were these jousting sessions, but the guys/gals jousting had these over inflated personalities like WWE wrestlers. I think they were the Knights of Seattle? They were super fun to watch!

There was also this fire eater who was a pretty good comedian as well. At the end of his schtick he took a big handful of explossive powder, threw it up into the air, and ignited it! Holy cow... What resulted was a fireball going straight into the sky that burned so hot that you could feel the heat on your face!

What a good time.

I live in Michigan. There's a big one on the east side of the state. Never been tho.
