I know this a long shot but I have always been interested in powerlifting as competition. I have fallen behind on my weight lifting goals but I will get back into it very soon. I was just wondering if there are any Christian powerlifters in this thread?

I know it's mainly men, but it's a sport that women do also; maybe Christian women among them.

I never mentioned gender but yeah there are some women powerlifters. Christian and a powerlifter also would be a pretty rare thing however.

I'm trying to increase my bench, but I'm far from a powerlifter. I max out at ~170. Since I weigh ~200, I'm still pretty weak. But I just don't want to end up on a gym fails video by attempting too much.

That's why I use a home gym. Got an average setup with some squat racks and etc.

I've done the roll of shame more times that I would like to admit. Nice to fail when nobody will see. :)

Pretty dang strong for her body mass.

Never too late to get back into it.

I lift weights but don't compete. Right now I'm following a powerlifting regiment, similar to one I did as a teen (back when I really went hard).

Right now I can bench for 1 rep 230 (prob a bit more now), I barbell military press 135 for 5 reps. My dead and squat are weak atm but I've only just begun training this way again, currently could deadlift for 1 rep probably around 280 if I was guessing (last set I did was 225 for 5 reps but I had a lot more in me and was just going light). My squat atm I'm just doing 185 for 3x5, but that will increase a good amount once I do this more I imagine. I also train barbell rows. I'm currently 184lbs at 5'6.

At 15 I was benching 190 for 1 rep, deadlifting 350 for one rep, squatting 285ish for 5 reps, military pressing 135(+) for 5 reps, and barbell rowing around 185 for 5 reps. I was 140-145lbs at 5'6. I could have competed if I had stuck with it but life got in the way and I went down a spiral for (many) years, I was not a Christian back then.

So I have quite a ways to get back to where I was haha... feels funny competing against a 15 year old version of myself at 26 but it is what it is.

I very much enjoy it all.

Cool clip..
I used to be a fan of Becca Swanson
(American powerlifter, who held a number of lifting world records). She may still hold some of those world records (?); but I don't think she still lifts competitively. She was awesome ~
