Any Degrassi Fans?

Yeah, I guess it's kind of sad that I'm addicted to a show marketed for teens, but I can't help it! Does anyone else here share my obsession?

I never really caught on to the new Degrassi, probably because I am older now. But, having said that, I would LOVE for the old series to come onto DVD. I at one time had every episode taped and have watched each one a few times.

I like how some of the characters (Spike, Snake etc.) are on the newer series.

Anyway, I've been watching Degrassi:TNG since it started. When it was on another channel. And I must say I love it lol.

I heard about the old ones coming out on DVD. I've been curious about the old ones since I started watching TNG...makes me wish I had a DVD player.

If you have never seen the old ones and like the new ones, it coming out on DVD would give people a good chance to see the history of some of the characters.

LOL, I love kiddie shows too. I used to always watch Degrassi Jr High. That song is still in my head. I haven't seen the new one though. Right now I like That's So Raven for some odd reason. :o

Wow back in my health and social living class we had to watch Degrassi Junior High every day. I actually liked it though. Now every now and then on BYU TV I see a show called Center Street which is basically a show aimed at teens from the same period of 89-92 or so it seems.

I use to watch both too when we got nog....I was surprised to see the next gen. and still have two of the original cast members...I use to watch the original way back when.

I was a HUGE fan of the original Degrassi back in the 80s and early 90s. Going all the way back to "The Kids of Degrassi Street" to the "Degrassi High" series finale movie.

I don't find the stories and situations of the current Degrassi as "heart felt" as the original ones. When the Zit Remedy struggled with their band, or when Spike got pregnant, you really felt the emotions for them. It was so much more real.

The original was one of my all time favorite shows. I bought the complete videos of DH and DJH about two years ago. About $300+ for both series. A bargain when you consider that director Kevin Smith used to talk about buying them for around $5000. Must have been before they were officially release or something.

But there was one show I remember seeing that was not in the tapes. Or at least a scene at a party.

I like the way they were more serious and issue-focused. They didn't seem care as much about the production and acting, even though some of the actors had talent.

I watched it on the N tonight. They had a promo for new episodes...on November 26!!! I can't believe it...they just started the new season a few weeks ago and now it's going on hiatus for month! You Canadians are so lucky, you can see it without any breaks. Anyway, someone will bring a gun to school. I have two guesses on who it will be. Has anyone seen the "Accidents Will Happen" episode? The N won't show it.
