    ANTI-JEWISH PREJUDICE
    CONDEMNED

There are many prejudiced, biased, racially condemning people in this world. We find them even in the churches. The devils have enjoyed using the Christians to engender more prejudice, more bias. Scriptures are twisted, concepts are perverted, and the resulting doctrines are wrong. The prejudice found in the church has been oft found to try to use Scripture to validate such racial prejudice.

In these last days, there has been a renewed effort by demons to instigate some more racial divide against the Jews. They have used some Scriptures in a fresh or new way to assert their evil as good.

The Ku Klux Klan is a fraternal organization known for their hoods and white sheet-like apparel. They used torches, standing in a circle, with a large burning cross to terrorize and intimidate people of color. The crimes associated with this group are varied and often violent. The KKK was founded in Polaski, Tennessee in 1866 by six confederate officers. In 1869 it was ordered to disband. In 1915, there was a rebirth of this organization. In 1944, some say it collapsed as an organization. Yet, it has survived more than most would admit. There are many smaller groups, with various names, all bearing similar characteristics to the KKK. These are likely the outgrowth of the former large organization, seeking to lessen notoriety, and not bring national pressure that the former group had garnered. The “Alabama White Knights of the KKK”, the “Texas Knights of the KKK”, the “International Knights of the KKK of South Carolina”, are some of the more admittedly KKK organizations still operating. There are many that are more hidden. The ‘White Power’, the ‘Aryan Nation’, and the ‘Skin Heads’ are tied to the KKK in at least similar ideas and bias. The “11th Hour Remnant Messenger”, The ‘National Alliance’ and the neo Nazi groups likewise carry on many of the traditions of the original KKK.

A new surge by a group of ‘Adamic White Skinned Aryan Hebrew, Israelite People’ have begun spreading a lying doctrine that is quite obviously demonic in origin. They say ‘it is a lie that Jesus Christ came to redeem any other race than His own, the chosen people of Israel, the Israelites.’ They go on to teach that those called the ‘Jews’ now are not really ‘Jewish’ but are ‘satan’s Jews’. The white supremacist groups claim these are venomous and evil people who are the offspring of satan with satan’s DNA genetics. They say that Jesus was a “Jew” only in that He was born and lived in Judea. But Jesus was, according to them, a white man. They say that there are two main ‘races’ of mankind, the ‘human’, which they spell ‘HUE-Man’, meaning people of color. The other race is the ‘Adamic race’ which they teach are the ‘white Israelite’ people.

The 11th HOUR REMNANT MESSENGER has said:
“Contrary to popular Judeo-Christianity philosophy, the Adamic White followers of the ‘way’ are under no obligation to forgive anyone else’s sin, transgressions, or debts even if they claim to be a Christian. In fact, we are ordered to judge them with a righteous judgment and punish them.”

That is anti-all non white, it is biased to the max, and evil to the core.

Why is little mention made in the Bible of the race issue? The reason is that the Jewish people were one race that was a mixture. Inside the Jewish nation were some who were black, some who were just a little dark, and others who were a combination of the two. If any skin color was rare, it was white. Too often in our day we picture Jesus and the others in Bible times as white, if we are white. Some picture them as black, if they are black. The truth is that those mentioned in Scripture were often black, and most of the rest were very dark.

Bigotry of race has always been able to find some justification, for some whites have wronged blacks, some blacks have wronged whites. To use several or even many such instances to generate hatred for all of that color is like hating all red heads, because one hurt your feelings once.

    JONAH’S EXAMPLE OF BIGOTRY
    AGAINST GENTILES

Jonah was prejudiced against the Ninevehites. He felt he had good reason for it, for some had greatly abused his fellow Israelites. So, after much persuasion, using a giant fish to finally persuade him, Jonah took the gospel to the ones he was so biased against.

Jonah's message was only five words long in the Hebrew. In English it translates to:
    Jonah 3:4
"Yet forty days and Nineveh shall be overthrown."

That is quite a short sermon. Jonah "forgot" to mention the repentance that was possible, and the forgiveness that God extends to the repentant. There was possible mercy, and that is why Jonah was sent. Jonah knew that, but even after his storm-tossed trip on the boat, the death within the fish, the days in paradise with saints from times before, this prophet still was bigoted against the Gentiles of Nineveh.

Today, many saints are also bigoted. For some perverted reason or another, some have gotten bias against one nationality or another, or one race or another. Some show it mildly with joking abuse, some go much further and verbally attack, and some even physically do harm.

Some whites are bigoted against blacks. Some blacks are bigoted against whites. Some are bigoted against the poor, against the rich, against one nationality or another. In this writing I will deal with the ones who are anti-semitic.

We need to repent of our bigotries. They hang on, and are difficult to change. Still, despite Jonah's prejudices, there was revival in Nineveh. The Holy Spirit was not bigoted, and He convicted the sinful people of Nineveh. They repented. When God said He loves the world enough to send Jesus, and that ‘whosoever believeth on Him’ will not perish, He truly meant ‘whosoever’. Mankind may try to rule out certain peoples, but God is not confused with their misinterpretations of Scripture. God knows what He truly said, and He truly meant ‘whosoever’.

Jonah had a great revival. Can you imagine a revival with 120,000 converts. The whole town repented. One would expect Jonah to dance with joy. Yet, look at Jonah's reaction to this great revival:
    Jonah 4:1-3
"displeased Jonah... very angry... it is better for me to die. "

Jonah went up to the hillside outside of Nineveh and tried to persuade God to destroy Nineveh and its inhabitants anyhow. He sat under a gourd for shade. God prepared a worm to eat at the plant, and the gourd died. Jonah complained for his shade was now gone. This prophet attempted to scold God for sparing Nineveh, and not sparing the gourd. How foolish are many today who attempt to scold a loving, merciful God. How stubborn are our bigotries... how stupid is our refusal to yield to the infallible God. How can we think that God could ever be wrong, and need our correction?

God corrected this prophet, and questioned how he could have pity and mercy for a gourd, but not for 120,000 repentant sinners. This resurrected prophet, who was given another chance to fulfill God's commission, now wants to try to tell God how to do His job! We find prejudiced people today, some even in churches, who are trying to twist Scripture to indicate God has a bigotry against a certain people. Can you really even imagine God condemning a Jewish person today for the crucifying act of an ancestor millennia ago? If one of my ancestors were Jack the ripper, neither man’s law, nor God’s law would condemn me. Yet, we find many who justify their wanting to send all Jewish people to hell, for the mistreatment of Jesus millennia ago.

The tomb of the prophet Jonah is on the hillside above the ancient city of Nineveh. The city was destroyed some years later after the people had backslid and gone back into the sinful lifestyle they had before. But Jonah sat and died waiting for this judgment to come. He wanted to see the destruction so much, that he died waiting to see it. He could have gone down into the town and had one of the greatest "churches" of the period. Instead, the next generation, not the saved ones, went back into sin, and God did judge them for their sins.

With the king, and all the 120,000 people of the capital of Assyria wanting to serve God, Jonah could have then reached out in evangelism to the rest of the nation. How many more would have been saved? The prophet Jonah stopped the revival of God by his bigotry. How many revivals today are stopped by prophets who want judgment more than restoration??? How many Israelite people are not witnessed to, due to the prejudice against one’s of their race, that lived several thousand years ago?

DIVINE GRACE IS GRACE FOR ALL,
    NOT MEANT FOR SELECT GROUPS

Many today would enjoy seeing judgment on one race, one nationality, one gender, one classification of sins. Some have been hurt by the spiritual abuse within the churches, or the persecution of the sinners, the failures of love from a minister, or the demonically inspired attacks by "tares" within the body of believers. God does not want us to sit and await their judgment. No, we are told to intercede for them. We are to pray they repent before judgment comes. Restoration is meant to be the goal, not judgment.

Divine grace is meant to be universal. God wants to save all of mankind. We need to have a higher patriotism. We need to love more than just the people like ourselves. Elijah ministered to the Sidonian woman. Elisha ministered to Namaan the Syrian. Zechariah called god the "Lord of Hosts" (means the Lord of everyone). Jonah finally took the message to the people of Nineveh. God never intended the Jews to hold the truth to themselves.

The church is not to simply put out a "welcome mat" and await a few wonderful people to find their way to the door. We are to go into "all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15) The church has sometimes tried to do this. Many congregations are not trying anymore. Some preachers want to minister to family and friends. Some want to minister to some who dress appropriately. Dress codes, rules of conformity, and bigotry toward those who are different will destroy many a revival the Holy Spirit tries to start. Judgment awaits the ones who hinder or stop God's efforts of restoration. God wants us to reach out to all.

I remember my first year of Bible college. The college took the students to a city wherein there were many Jewish people, with whom we were to witness. I was a freshman, so I thought to watch some of the upper class men, and learn how to do this. In horror, I witnessed the scoldings, the belittings, the mocking, being given to these Jewish people for the rejection of Jesus. I wanted to give the good news, that the Messiah had come, and the Lamb of God had died for their sins. But, several upperclassmen, pulled me aside and told me to watch how they would do it. I watched for a few moments, and noticed there were no salvations, only anger and fear being generated by that so called ‘method’ of witnessing. I had to finally back away, not wanting to be part of attacks being wrongly called ‘evangelization.’

Prophecy is sometimes conditional. God sends some warnings of judgment to turn people from their sins, and when they do repent, He forgives and
restores. There are many ‘if’s’ in prophetic words to peoples. Some take messages out of context, some ignore the ‘whosoever’, and ‘to all nations’, to end up with a gospel they will only share with ones like themselves.

The secret of effective preaching is first dying to self, and the shedding our own faults and failures. If we harbor a sin, as did Jonah, we will end up doing harm to the revival that God is trying to give. Jonah had one of the greatest revivals ever. Yet, he could have had an even greater one. The revival might have continued into the next generation, had Jonah not been bigoted. The captivity to Assyria, and later to Babylon would have been avoided, had Jonah taken the message of God to the world. Jonah was partially obedient to God, and took part of the message to the people of Nineveh. Many are partially obedient today, and expect God to see only the obedience. God sees all of our lives. He knows where we have changed, and where we are still harboring sin and bigotry.

GOD IS CURRENTLY0 TURNING HIS ATTENTION
    BACK TO THE JEWS

Daniel predicted 490 years of God dealing with the nation of Israel. A total of 483 of those years have passed. In the meantime God has dealt with the Gentiles. Seven of the years are left for God to deal with the Jews. We call this last seven years -‘Daniel's 70th week, the tribulation’. We are now in an overlap period. God is ending His dealings with the Gentiles, preparing to rapture His church. He is also beginning to deal again with the Jewish people.

    Luke 21:24
"JERUSALEM SHALL BE TRODDEN DOWN OF THE GENTILES, UNTIL THE TIMES OF THE GENTILES BE FULFILLED."

Yes, the time of God working mainly with the Gentiles is being ‘fulfilled’. The time of Him, not dealing mainly with the Jewish nation, is almost over. In 1967, Jerusalem came under the control of the Israelites. This was God's way of announcing to the church that He would soon be dealing with the Jewish people again. The rapture of the church is imminent.

    Matthew 24:9
"THEN YE (Jews) SHALL BE HATED OF ALL NATIONS FOR MY NAME'S SAKE."

Most of the time in the U.N. is spent on resolutions condemning Israel. Terrorists can strike at Israel, but if Israel retaliates, the U.N. wants to condemn them. The Arab terrorists may blow up a plane of innocent people and go un-condemned. If Israel bombs a camp of terrorists who periodically attack Israel, then the U.N. condemns them. Antisemitism has been stated and restated so many times that even some Christians believe it. We need to become more vocal for Israel.

    Romans 11:28
"AS CONCERNING THE GOSPEL, THEY ARE ENEMIES FOR YOUR SAKES, BUT AS TOUCHING THE ELECTION, THEY ARE BELOVED FOR THE FATHER'S SAKE."

There are presently 4 to 5 million Jews in Israel. In the world there are 14 million Jews. 6 million are in the United States. 3 million are in Russia. The rest are scattered amidst the world. For 2000 years the Jews have been scattered.

    Jeremiah 32:37-38
"BEHOLD, I WILL GATHER THEM OUT OF ALL COUNTRIES, WHITHER I HAVE DRIVEN THEM IN MINE ANGER, AND IN MY FURY."

    Ezekiel 36:24,28
"FOR I WILL TAKE YOU FROM AMONG THE HEATHEN AND GATHER YOU OUT OF ALL COUNTRIES, AND WILL BRING YOU INTO YOUR OWN LAND... YE SHALL BE MY PEOPLE, AND I SHALL BE YOUR GOD."

God has been re-gathering the Jewish people back to Israel since it became a nation again on May 14, 1948. The Bible predicted that when the nation of Israel was reborn, the generation then present would not have died till all things (rapture, tribulation, and second coming of Jesus) would be fulfilled.

    Matthew 24:32-34
"...THIS GENERATION SHALL NOT PASS AWAY TILL ALL THESE THINGS BE FULFILLED." (See also Luke 21:29-31)

    Jeremiah 31:8-11
"BEHOLD, I WILL BRING THEM (Jews) FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY (Russia)... HE THAT SCATTERED ISRAEL WILL GATHER HIM... FOR THE LORD HATH REDEEMED JACOB (Israel) AND RANSOMED HIM FROM THE HAND OF HIM THAT WAS STRONGER THAN HE."

The break up of the Soviet Union has allowed many Jews to finally be allowed to escape that area. Plane loads, and boat loads are still arriving in Israel. Following the rapture of the church, the devil will begin to cause greater persecution of the Jews left in this country. Unhindered by the Christians, the sinful Gentiles will cause many Jews in this country to flee back to their homeland. They will escape in the nick of time for God has a horrendous defeat planned for the post rapture United States. He will save the Jews that flee to their homeland.

The devil has a plan, still, to annihilate Israel from this world, for he knows God intends to bring them again to a choice of Jesus, and see if they will this time respond for Him. Many will.

THE CHURCH IS TEMPORARILY GRAFTED IN,
    SOON TO BE CALLED AWAY,
ISRAEL WILL THEN BE RE-GRAFTED BACK INTO THE VINE.

In the Greek, the word for "church" is "ecclesia." This word means "the called out ones." The church is a group of people who have been "called out" from the world, to be -God's people,-chosen ones,-people who are commissioned of God.

The purpose of the church is to replace the work that Israel had been given by God. Israel has been "cut off" from that work. Some have continued to be saved during the ‘cut off’ time, as will some gentiles be saved during the tribulation during the time when Israel has been grafted in again.

The church has now been "grafted in." Israel was to be the evangelists of the world, but they chose to feel that they were the select group that was to contain all the blessings of God. God does not love Israel only, but He chose to have Israel to share and to demonstrate the love of God to the world. Since they tried to retain God only for themselves, and to refuse to evangelize other nations, and finally to reject Jesus Christ--they were "cut off."

The gospel message is now being carried forth by the church. We, as the church, now assume the duty given to Israel. The church now must beware of the tendency to fail as Israel, by holding the gospel within our four walls, and refusing to be the evangelists of other people. To take bigotry as Jonah had against the Ninevehites, and turn it around of Gentiles against the Jewish people is still shamefully wrong.

In Romans 11:11-36, a warning is given to the church.
    Romans 11:11-36 (KJV)
11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.
15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
16 For if the first fruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
    17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.
24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?
25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the Fathers' sakes.
29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that He might have mercy upon all.
33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been His counsellor?
35 Or who hath first given to Him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
36 For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things: to Whom be glory for ever. Amen.

In verse 11, we see that God intends to provoke Israel to jealousy by the blessings He has put upon the church.

Then God warns the church not to boast against Israel, the "cut off" ones.

The reason God gives is that we may be "cut off" also (vss. 18-21). The blessings of the church are conditional. We must not be ignorant of the fact that the church age will end soon, and the Lord will turn again to the nation of Israel (vss. 25-27).

We, the church, should love the Jews because of God's special calling for them.
    Romans 11:28 (KJV)
28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the Fathers' sakes.

THE FACTS OF HISTORY MAKE MOCKERY OF BIGOTRY...

The ancient Egyptians were black. Tests on the mummies, drawings on the tombs, etc. confirm this. They were descendants of Ham. Joseph married a black woman when in Egypt. His two sons were therefore part black, and part the semi-dark skin of the Jews who descended from Shem. Therefore the tribes of Manasseh and Ephraim were part black.

Rahab was in the lineage of Christ, and she was a Canaanite, therefore she was black. Ruth, the great-grandmother of David, became part of the lineage of Christ, and she was also of Hamitic descent, and therefore was black.

Bathsheba, was a black woman, and she was married to a Hittite (they were also black). She was black, and she was Solomon's mother. There was much marriage between the Jews and the black Hamitic people.

In the Song of Solomon (1:5), the Shulamite girl says:
    "I am black, but comely..."

Jesus was not white, and probably not black. He was undoubtedly more dark than most have pictured Him. Having as many black people in His direct human lineage, it is extremely unlikely that He could have been as white as He is usually pictured.

Midian was the son of Abraham through Keturah. (Genesis 25:1-4) The Midianites intermarried with the Cushites of Ethiopia. Therefore the Midianites were a very dark race. Moses married a Kenite-Midianite. Jethro, the father of Moses' wife- Zipporah, was black. He was considered a Kenite (Judges 1:16). The Kenites were a Canaanite tribe (Genesis 15:19). They were descendants of Ham. Jethro worshiped the true God (Exodus 18:10-12). His daughter was a Cushite/Ethiopian (Numbers 12:1). Origen, a great Christian scholar of the early church, describes Zipporah as black and beautiful. The Jews were not forbidden to marry the Ethiopians (Exodus 34:11,16).

Aaron and Miriam (siblings of Moses) criticized Moses for marrying a black woman. Miriam was given leprosy by God for that sin of criticism. (See Numbers 12.) Racial prejudice has been commonplace in too many Christian circles. We, as Christians, had better clean up our lives from this prejudice. Zipporah had two sons, Gershom and Eliezer. Moses was a Levite, and the intermarriage of the Levites with the Kenites has resulted in the fact that most of the Levites are black in our day. The Rechabites, mentioned in Jeremiah, were Kenites, relatives of Moses through Zipporah and Jethro. They were a black people. They were not Semitic and yet they were accepted in Israel. They chose to stay separate. It was not racial prejudice that separated them.

Christianity is not a white man's religion. It is not a black religion. Judaism is not a white man’s religion either, there are many ‘colors’ of Jews today. Some do not know they have Jewish blood, due to the ignorance of history. It is not any one races' religion. Jesus died for all of mankind. The name "Lord of hosts" literally means - "the Lord of everyone." God is still God of the Jewish nation, God of all nations. All mankind needs to do, is accept Jesus’ atonement, to be saved. God does not love one race above another. He loves all races. He made the Jews to have a variety of colors within it, and I am sure He does not mind congregations who love enough to have the same kind of congregations.

The Jews were scattered around the world several times. They have just recently began to return to Israel. In doing dna tests of the remains of Jews long dead, they have found that there are Levites, the tribe of the priesthood of the Old Testament, to be found. Many of them were found living in Africa, and had intermarried through the centuries with those indigenous to that land, and were black skinned. Many of the black Ethiopians have tested to be of the tribe of Levite. Many have been flown to Israel and are being trained to become priests for when the Temple is rebuilt. Some blacks of our day are very anti-semite, and yet, they would be wise to do a dna test, and see, for there is a good likelihood that they have Jewish dna in their body.

    THE ‘WHOSOEVER’ OF GOD’S OFFER...

    1 John 4:14-16 (KJV)
14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

When people think of racism, they usually think of the 250 years of slavery this country had. Racism began long before that, and has continued long after. In 1619, the first 20 African slaves were sold in Jamestown, Virginia. President Abraham Lincoln emancipated them in 1863, and in 1865, the resulting war sealed their freedom from slavery. Racism continued though, and still is a problem today. The sin and injustice of prejudice due to skin color is devastating. It creates bitterness, anger, hopelessness, and despair in this world. The problem is no longer racism of whites against blacks, though that does continue. It has created enough bitterness in many blacks, that they despise all white people regardless if they have ever had racism against the blacks. We find also, that there is racism against those of yellow skin, of red skin, etc. Anti-semitism is a growing again bigotry.

The evil seed of racism has borne bitter fruit. The bigotry, discrimination, is demonstrated in many organizations, as Nazism, white supremacists, anti-Semites, apartheid, Black Muslims, Black Panthers, KKK. This racism is based on ignorance. Some have been taught ignorance through the years. This includes many people of various colors. The things they have been taught, most often start with the word ‘all’. They learn ‘all black people are .....’ or ‘all white people are ....’ or ‘all Jews are...’. They learn many of those phrases, and if you repeat one enough times in your mind, you start to believe it. It then becomes part of your person.

The word ‘all’ needs to be almost eliminated from our vocabulary, for truthfully, there is seldom that it is true. When it comes to a ‘race’, I do not know of any time it is true. The Bible records a few ‘all’ things, like ‘all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God’. That is true, and yet, seldom can we find other statements, always true. Erase the stupid ignorance of ‘all .... are ... ‘ for if you ever let yourself, you will find out that there are many, many exceptions, and perhaps even the phrase often needs changed to ‘few ... are....’ That is most often closer to the truth.

Reconciliation from anti-semitism is a goal, but it is hard to get that due to the accumulated hurt and anger of the ones discriminated against, and the ignorance of the ones who are bigoted.

None of us have the aura glory of God’s appearance, none of us are anywhere close to His wisdom and knowledge. We are finite, He is infinite. We are mortal, He is immortal. Yet, He loved us and sent Jesus to die for us, loving us that much. We can love others, with an agape spiritual love, generated in us by an Almighty God, and erase bigotry from our hearts. None of us can claim to be superior to anyone, for all of us ‘whosoever’s’ were saved by grace, not by merit.

We need God’s love shed abroad in our hearts. It erases many things from our hearts and minds. One of those things that cannot exist in our minds, when the love of God is there, is bigotry.

    1 John 2:5-6 (KJV)
5 But whoso keepeth His word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him.
6 He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.

Yes, it is that simple. Many want a complicated plan, to work on, to get come credit for applying it, and then we can ‘hang a diploma’ on our wall congratulating ourselves for having graduated into a class of ‘non-anti-semites’. Yet, the plan of God is far simpler than that, and only God gets the glory. He says, ‘keep His Word’, and then He will miraculously clean out the racism, and perfect agape love within us, and that will be proof that we are truly ‘in Him.’

Keeping His word, is obedience. That usually has to start with repentance, for we have failed to live and think as commanded. Then the ‘love of God’ begins to fill our soul, as God takes over all the parts of our heart. When love is perfected, we will truly be Christ-like.

    1 John 4:7-8 (KJV)
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

    1 John 4:11 (KJV)
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

    1 John 4:20-21 (KJV)
20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
21 And this commandment have we from Him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

Love is the command from the Lord. Anti-Semitism is therefore a sin, for it is proof of lack of love. Poor education, hurtful experiences in the past, have made some so hard hearted, that they never repented of the lack of love that anti-semitism proves is there. This results in continued and multiple sins.

    Romans 13:8 (KJV)
8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

    Romans 13:10 (KJV)
10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

WERE THE JEWS BARRED FROM BEING SAVED,
WITH THE PASSING of THE LAW TO THE NEW COVENANT?

    Matthew 5:17-22 (KJV)
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

This is a heavy teaching of Jesus. All of the sermon on the mount is very heavy teaching. This one deals with the law. The ‘law’ was a dispensation in preparation for the fulfillment in Jesus. Some still try to live by the law, some take parts of it, and want to obey only those parts. The early church originally recognized that they were part of a ‘new covenant’. Yet, there were some who soon began to incorporate law back into the gospel message.

    Acts 15:1-2, 5-14, 19,20
"And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved. When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question. ... But there rose up a certain sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses. And the apostles and the elders came together for to consider this matter. And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel and believe. And God, Who knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Spirit, even as He did unto us... Why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?... Wherefore my sentence is that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God: But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollution of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood."

That particular debate on the need to keep the law of the Old Covenant was settled, but still there were more debates, more division amidst the early church. Some called the ‘Ebionites’ took the original Hebrew gospel written by Matthew and the disciples (called the Logia), and ‘adulterated’ it, to make it sound as though one had to obey the laws to be saved. The adulterated forms of this original gospel are called the Gospel of the Hebrews, and the Gospel of the Ebionites. The Ebionite heretics of the early church age debased the Logia, making their gospel by adding, changing, and omitting portions of the Logia. Epiphanius says that they had the Gospel of Matthew in the most complete form in the Hebrew (Aramaic), and that they had "falsified and mutilated" it.

This group is the one started in the time of Acts 15. Paul wrote to some being tempted to go that same route in doctrine in Galatians. The book of Hebrews is a thematic book written to counter some of these same false doctrines they were accepting.

The whole law of God and Moses, including the ten commandments, and all the civil and ceremonial laws based upon the ten commandments, was done away with and abolished in Christ on the cross and the new covenant now takes the place of the old one.

    This is plainly stated in:
    2 Corinthians 3:6-15 (KJV)
6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones (the 10 commandments), was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.
11 For if that which is done away (the old covenant of the law) was glorious, much more that which remaineth (the new covenant of grace) is glorious.
12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished (the covenant of the law):
14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.

It is clear that the old covenant, written in stone, was to be ‘done away’, “abolished’. A new, more glorious covenant was to take its place. The commandments were written stone, and Christ fulfilled the commandments of the Old Testament, and accomplished their purpose. The commandments written in stone were done away, and now the commandments we do are not what saves us, but they are written on our hearts and minds, so that we obey the law due to wanting to, not because we are being forced to...

Notice that there is a great contrast between the old and new covenants in this passage:
    the first brought "death", the second brings "life";
    the first was "glorious", the second is "much more glorious";
    the first brought "condemnation", the second brings "righteousness";
    the first was of "the letter", the second is of "the Spirit";
    the first was "done away" and "abolished", the second "remaineth";
    the first came by "Moses", the second came by Jesus Christ;
    the first required a vail to hide the glory because it was "the ministration of death", the second can be viewed with "open face" for it is "the spirit that giveth life";
and the first brought blindness and bondage, the second brings liberty.

    Ephesians 2:15 (KJV)
    15 Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in Himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

    Matt 5:17
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

The word ‘destroy’ is the Greek word ‘katalyo’. Of the seventeen times in the New Testament, it is translated ‘destroy’ nine times. It is from two words, ‘kata’ and ‘luo’, meaning to ‘loosen down’. It means here to bring to completion, throw down, make to halt.

The Lord Jesus, in making the law to halt, rather did what is translated ‘fulfil’ the law. This is the Greek word pleroo (4137) meaning ‘to satisfy, to fulfil, as when a prophecy is fulfilled, completed, it is seen and evident as to what it truly meant.

The Bible shows this ‘fulfilment’ of prophecy truth is what is referred to here, for Paul refers to this in Galatians.

    Galatians 3:22-25 (KJV)
22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

The law was a shadow of things to come, just as when you see a ‘shadow’ as you look toward a corner, you know the shadow will be followed by what or who made the shadow, and the reality is to follow. The shadow is no longer needed to know the reality of it, for the fulfilment is evident.

    Colossians 2:14-17 (KJV)
    14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances (the law) that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

    Matt. 5:18
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

The word ‘pass’ is the Greek word: parerchomai (G3928), meaning to pass away, be changed, or pass from one condition to another. They did not pass, or change from one condition to another, till all was fulfilled. Jesus said He came to ‘fulfil’ the law. They never have passed out of existence, but they have been purified, becoming renewed again.

The law is part of the eternal Word of God. They remain forever. They will never pass away in the sense of non-existence. It will always be wrong to murder, to steal, etc. yet, they have passed away in the sense of when one becomes a new creation.

    2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

‘Not one jot or tittle’ refers to the ‘jot’, the smallest letter of the Hebrew alphabet, and the ‘tittle’ is the smallest ornament placed upon some Hebrew letters. Like the dot on the alphabet I, this tittle will never pass away, at least not until, all has been fulfilled. We all need to be free from the ‘letter of the law.’ That written law that tells us what to do or not do, and that inner urge to do it, but still knowing our flesh is weak, and bound to fail. That is a heavy burden, it guarantees ‘death’ for we are all ‘sinners’, failures of keeping the law. That was fulfilled, when Jesus took our death on the cross, and the penalty of sin was paid. Jesus came and made it possible for us to take, by grace, the love He gives, and shares. This love of God and love for our fellow man, makes us not need to force ourselves to not kill, we will not want to steal, etc. Rather, the law of love replaces the ‘law’, for it is fulfilled in the redemption of our spirit from the curse of sin.

Every jot and tittle of the whole law or contract at Sinai was fulfilled, ended, and abolished in Christ and "done away" by Him when He made the new covenant, which is far more glorious.

    Romans 10:4 (KJV)
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

THE LAWS OF THE NEW COVENANT ARE STILL AS BINDING, BUT NO LONGER ARE WE TO FORCED TO OBEY LAWS THAT ARE UNNATURAL,
RATHER, WE HAVE A NEW NATURE OF LOVE THAT PRODUCES A DESIRE TO LOVE, SO OBEDIENCE TO THE LAWS IS EASY.

    Matt 5:19
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments,
and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

The laws and commandments of the new covenant are just as binding as those in the old covenant. Our nature is changed, so that we obey, not by force, but by love. There are over 1,050 commands in the new covenant, plus many others not shown in the form of commands. We are told to ‘love our neighbor’, we are told not only not to kill, but also not to be angry. The laws are not done away, but our nature is changed, so that our love keeps us from hating, killing, stealing, etc.

    Matt 5:20
For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

The scribes and pharisees were ‘self righteous’, but not ‘righteous.’ They had the clean clothes, the bathed bodies, the proper offerings, the words of scholars. Yet, inside, in their hearts, they were hateful, jealous, bitter, angry, wicked in thought. Jesus wants us to have far more righteousness than they.

    Romans 10:1-3 (KJV)
1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

RIGHTEOUSNESS IS DEFINED SIMILARLY IN BOTH COVENANTS.

THE NEW COVENANT DOES NOT CONDONE UNRIGHTEOUSNESS.
THE INNER MOTIVATION IS NOT FORCING UNNATURAL DEEDS,
BUT IT BECOMES OUR NATURE TO LOVE AND TO BE RIGHTEOUS.

    Matt 5:21-22
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Jesus speaks with authority, He is One of the Trinity, He is Lord, King of kings. He makes laws and can issue commands, and we are to obey. Some think that once saved, there is no need for obedience. That is heresy and there is no such teaching in the Word. The old covenant was glorious, but it was the ‘letter of the law’ that was the impetus to obey. Now, when Jesus gives a command, we are to obey, only now it is due to our love for Him, for our fellow man. So, with this new impulse of love flowing through our being, we love so much, there is no desire to break these commands of Jesus.

    John 1:17 (KJV)
17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

If we get angry without cause, we fail Jesus. Our tempers need to be under the control of the love of God. We may blame ourselves, and of course, we have failed, but the blame needs not just directed inward to condemn, but we need to blame our lack of having the love of God flow through us. The fruit of the Spirit, which we received at salvation, needs to flow. Fruit keeps us from breaking the new law of Jesus. It is not our ‘efforts’ we need to work on, we are not under the old covenant. It is our ‘fruit’ that needs to flow again.

    Ephesians 4:24-26 (KJV)
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

The fruit of the Spirit has ‘no law’ against them. They are constantly to be the motivating impetus to our actions. We are to never have any lack in these. We are never to replace these fruit and allow a ‘work of the flesh’ to replace it. Jesus deals in the sermon on the mount with ‘anger’ in the passage under discussion. Anger, without cause, is due to impatience, unlove, short suffering, lack of peace, loss of joy, etc. In other words, ‘anger’ that is without cause, proves that the fruit of the Spirit, given at salvation, is no longer flowing through us.

    Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Living in fellowship with Jesus, free from the ‘letter of the law’ being our motivation, we have the love of Jesus keeping our living to be righteous.

    Romans 10:4 (KJV)
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

If we relied on the works of the law for our salvation, we are cursed.
    Galatians 3:10-13 (KJV)
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Our salvation is due to, not the obeying of the law, but to accepting the grace of the One Who will change our nature so we can live the holy life due to wanting to do such. None of us could ever completely fulfill that law out of self will. Jesus has taken that out of the way, and nailed it to His cross, paid the price for our failures of keeping the law.

    Colossians 2:14 (KJV)
    14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

CHANGES or FULFILLMENT IN THE LAW

The apostles did away with all keeping the law of circumcision and stated that Gentiles were not bound to keep the law of Moses. Even the ‘sabbath’ law was deleted from the new covenant. The Old Testament law had some commands that were a ‘shadow’ of what was to come. Circumcision spoke of a spiritual happening in the New Testament life of a believer. The sabbath law was a type of Jesus Who is our ‘rest from working for salvation’. Jesus, in His first coming fulfilled those parts of the law.

Circumcision was required as a sign of the covenant that God made with Abraham. The new covenant does not require circumcision, but it does have the fulfillment of that type within the new covenant. Therefore, circumcision was made optional in the new covenant. Yet, its fulfillment of the type is still mandatory.

    1 Corinthians 7:18-19 (KJV)
18 Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised.
19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

    Romans 2:29 (KJV)
29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Whereas in the old covenant, circumcision was indicative of the Abrahamic covenant, promising obedience to the letter of law. In the new testament, it is the change of the heart, the wanting to serve God willingly, without forcing oneself, that is the ‘circumcision of the heart.’

    Colossians 2:11-14 (KJV)
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised Him from the dead.
    13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath He quickened together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
    14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross;

Water Baptism is a symbol that we use to refer to what the Lord did to us in salvation, and we are identifying ourselves with Him in baptism, the way circumcision identified one in the Old Testament.

    Romans 14:5-6 (KJV)
5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

    Romans 14:12-13 (KJV)
12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

    Galatians 4:9-11 (KJV)
9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?
10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.
11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

    Colossians 2:16-17 (KJV)
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Each of us can do as we please about the sabbath. We are not to be judged by anyone. Going back to observe sabbaths due to it being the law is going back into the bondage of the law. If one does this "he is a debtor to do the whole law" (Gal. 5:3).

The law of the old covenant, was a ‘schoolmaster’ meant to teach us of what, or Who was to come. We are no longer under the ‘schoolmaster’, but our Master is Jesus.

    Galatians 3:19-25 (KJV)
19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; ... Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

We have graduated from the school of the law, we have no need to learn its lessons any longer, for we are in a new school, with a new ‘schoolmaster.’ We answer to Him alone, follow His commands, and enjoy the liberty this new school affords.

The law was shadows, and it was abolished when the Reality of the shadow appeared.

The weekly sabbath and the other sabbaths were part of the law given by God to Moses. The weekly sabbath was the one of eight feasts of the Lord.

    Leviticus 23:2-3 (KJV)
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.
3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

Thus, there were times of rest and holy worship. All the feasts and all the sabbaths were to be observed "for ever" (Lev. 23:14, 31, 41). These ‘rest’ times were not perfect in the law. The ‘fulfilment’ of these, and of all the law, came when Jesus became our Rest.

    Hebrews 4:1-10 (KJV)
1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in My wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For He spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all His works.
5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into My rest.
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7 Again, He limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts.
8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would He not afterward have spoken of another day.
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into His rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His.

Many foods were considered ‘unclean’, and unlawful in the Old Testament. Yet, this ‘uncleanness’ was a ceremonial uncleanness. The defiled, of that which was ceremonially unclean, could be ‘cleansed’. This was done with the garments of priests, with the Temple items, and finally Jesus did it with ‘ceremonially’ unclean animals. In the New Testament time, we find that the defilement and uncleanness of foods was removed.

In type, Jesus showed that the defilement of the world, that contaminates, can be cleansed.

    PSALMS 51:7
“PURIFY ME WITH HYSSOP, AND I SHALL BE CLEAN.”

The defilement of ceremonial things, was shown that they could be removed and made clean. Priests whose garments were ‘unclean’ could have them washed, and they could themselves bathe, and be able to again be pronounced ‘clean.’ Food, meats, were unclean in the Old Testament, but after Jesus, and with prayer and the Word of God, these too were pronounced ‘clean’ by God. Jesus came and fulfilled the Old Testament types, the ‘sabbath’ was not done away but was fulfilled in Jesus, and in the rest we find in Him from our labors. Circumcision was fulfilled in the baptism of the believers. And likewise, food, is now clean with prayer and the blessing of the Word.

    Hebrews 7:12
“FOR THE PRIESTHOOD BEING CHANGED, THERE IS MADE A NECESSITY OF A CHANGE ALSO OF THE LAW.”

The law has been ‘fulfilled’, completed, brought to an end, expired, finished, and has served its purpose. Many false doctrines, and false emphasis, are due to an effort to re-institute a law that has been fulfilled, and now the shadow does not need to be our attention, but what the fulfillment of that shadow has done.

    Ephesians 2:15
“HAVING ABOLISHED IN HIS FLESH, THE ENMITY, EVEN THE LAW OF COMMANDMENTS... TOOK IT OUT OF THE WAY, NAILING IT TO HIS CROSS.”

The law was a ‘schoolmaster’ (Galatians 3:19-25), and it was to teach us some things. The necessity of cleansing, of needing the blessing of God, of a change to make the unclean to be clean, was the purpose of laws regarding meats. When that lesson was taught and fulfilled on the cross, the way to cleanse the unclean is now shown, and we enjoy the benefits. Some flunk the course that the ‘schoolmaster’ has been teaching.

    II Corinthians 3:6-18
“6. WHO ALSO HATH MADE US ABLE MINISTERS OF THE NEW TESTAMENT, NOT OF THE LETTER, BUT OF THE SPIRIT, FOR THE LETTER KILLETH, BUT THE SPIRIT GIVETH LIFE.
    7. BUT IF THE MINISTRATION OF DEATH, WRITTEN AND ENGRAVEN IN STONES, WAS GLORIOUS... WHICH GLORY WAS TO BE DONE AWAY...
    11. FOR IF THAT WHICH IS DONE AWAY WAS GLORIOUS, MUCH MORE THAT WHICH REMAINETH IS GLORIOUS...
    13. ... TO THE END OF THAT WHICH IS ABOLISHED...
    14. ... WHICH VEIL IS DONE AWAY IN CHRIST...
    16. .... WHEN IT SHALL TURN TO THE LORD, THE VEIL SHALL BE TAKEN AWAY...”

Over and over, we are told that the law is ‘done away’, and ‘abolished’ in Jesus. And many want to return to the ‘beggarly elements of the law’. We, as saints today, should be aware of such things, and avoid, as it were the plague, the false doctrines of ‘commanding not to eat meats....’

    Matthew 5:17-18
“THINK NOT THAT I AM COME TO DESTROY THE LAW OF THE PROPHETS, i AM NOT COME TO DESTROY, BUT TO FULFILL, FOR VERILY, I SAY UNTO YOU, ONE JOT OR ONE TITTLE SHALL IN NO WISE PASS FROM THE LAW, TILL ALL BE FULFILLED.”

The law has not passed away, but is done away in preference to what it fore-shadowed. It was meant to teach us some things, and as the fulfillment of such lessons came, we take those fulfillment, not the former lessons, and shadows of them.

The Sabbath was a part of the law, but Jesus fulfilled that law also. And now that we ‘enter into Him’, we have rest from our works in Him, and He is our Sabbath. (Romans 14:5-6, Galatians 4:9-10, Colossians 2:14-17)

Circumcision was a part of the law. In the early church, there was much disputing about whether this should remain mandatory. The law of circumcision was fulfilled in Christ in baptism. (Acts 15:5-25) In our day, we are to have our ‘hearts’ circumcised, and the former circumcision was only a schoolmaster to teach us toward that truth.

The laws about ‘clean’ and ‘unclean’ meats, in the Old Testament,
were to bring us to certain truths of the New Testament era.

    Colossians 2:14-17
“BLOTTING OUT THE HANDWRITING OF ORDINANCES, THAT WAS AGAINST US, WHICH WAS CONTRARY TO US, AND TOOK IT OUT OF THE WAY, NAILING IT TO HIS CROSS. AND HAVING SPOILED PRINCIPALITIES AND POWERS, HE MADE A SHOW OF THEM OPENLY, TRIUMPHING OVER THEM IN IT. LET NO MAN THEREFORE JUDGE YOU IN MEAT OR DRINK, OR IN RESPECT OF AN HOLY DAY, OR OF THE NEW MOON, OR OF THE SABBATH DAYS. WHICH WERE A SHADOW OF THINGS TO COME, BUT THE BODY IS CHRIST.”

    Hebrews 8:4-5
“...PRIESTS OFFER GIFTS ACCORDING TO THE LAW, WHO SERVE UNTO THE EXAMPLE AND SHADOW OF HEAVENLY THINGS...”

    Hebrews 9:10
“WHICH STOOD ONLY IN MEATS AND DRINKS, AND DIVERS WASHINGS, AND CARNAL ORDINANCES, IMPOSED ON THEM, UNTIL THE TIME OF THE REFORMATION.,,,”

    Hebrews 10:1
“FOR THE LAW HAVING A SHADOW OF GOOD THINGS TO COME, AND NOT THE VERY IMAGE OF THE THINGS, CAN NEVER WITH THOSE SACRIFICES WHICH THEY OFFERED YEAR BY YEAR, CONTINUALLY MAKE THE COMERS THEREUNTO PERFECT.”
The anti-Semitism groups often try to make the Jewish people unsave-able due to their being under the old covenant. When they accept Jesus, and some have, many will, they escape the old covenant and come into the new, becoming one church with us. Many Christians try to stay partially under the old covenant, in tithing laws of 23 1/3 % versus the new covenant requirement of 100% being God's. Some keep the Sabbath of Saturday in Christianity, and Paul says that is fine. To observe bits or parts of the Old Covenant does not doom anyone, unless they substitute those things for means of salvation in replacement of the atonement of Jesus. The twisting of verses of the Bible to try to prove that Jewish Israel can never be saved is ridiculous.

These kind of threads often use the collective "we" in their accusational presumptions, it says "we" need to repent of "our" bigotries. I just feel that people here on the forum might be more comfortable if writers say "I" need to repent of "my" bigotry, that would not include others, in an awful accusation. This we thing is getting way to overused here.

If I come on the forum, and say I am stupid all day long, fine, I offend no one. But if I says "we" are stupid, I have now included others calling them stupid also, really rude to do. This is just a common understandng of the English venacular.

So again, please posters, if you want to rail accusations, please say "I", people can rail against themselves all day long, but, paaleeese don't accuse people you do not even know, in you assumption of bigotry here.

    Thanks, frog.:)
