I find the Calvinist view interesting.

May I suggest you aquaint yourself with exactly what Calvinist's believe first sister Evee, otherwise you may be in for a really rough time.

There is a lot of misrepresentation and bad exegesis by Arminian authors, particularly the 2 books I have mentioned.

If I was you I would begin with "The Sovereignty of God" by A.W.Pink

Also "Eternal Security" by A.W. Pink

also anything by Spurgeon, particularly his sermon "free will a slave"

God's richest blessings unto you sweet Sister.

I am aware it is a poor book, one that can be easily refuted. Just bringing it up.

I believe Dave Hunt's book "What Love is this?" is a book of lower scholarship. For example, Dave actually uses the NWT (Jehovah's Witnessess translation) for Acts 13:48.

I have a Christian friend who is smitten by the book

Here's a good expo....

"Dave Hunt's book has a subtitle which reads, "Calvinism's Misrepresentation of God,"
however, after reading the 7th chapter of Hunt's book, it seems evident that the
subtitle should actually read: "Dave Hunt's Misrepresentation of Calvinism."

My former church, Frist Baptist in my little home town, got a great youth minister about 6-7 years ago. He was in seminary and was also a Calvinist. The church was a staunch defender of man's free will. He showed passages concerning predestination to many of us, including me. He left the church about 3-4 years ago and I did to. My former Sunday School teacher just loves Dave Hunt's books. I spoke with my PCA minister and he said that if Hunt's picture of Calvinism were accurate, he wouldn't be a calvinist!

I have discussed the issue a few times. Last time, he said he could accept most of these points of doctrine except limited atonement. He went on to say that he thought it heretical to think that Christ's blood could not pay for the blood of all the world. I corrected him by saying that Christ's blood could pay for all the world, but since God has ordained those whom He specifically has chosen for eternal life, that Christs blood did not pay for the sins of the world.

Another thing the Sunday school teacher has often said is that predestination is God looking down the corridors of time and seeing who would be saved. I think I may have finally corrected this unbiblical stance by pointing out that the word used in Ephesians, and Romans is foreknew. What does the word "know" usually mean in the Bible? And Aden knew his wife, and she conceived.

Don you mean "The Potter's Freedom :a response to Norman's Geisler's Chosen But Free and defense of the Reformation" (or something like that)?
That's it, I wasn't thinking at the time.
